Manila Hustle 3X3 Season 2, aarangakada na sa weekend
Transcript
00:00 Manila Hustle Season 2 will start this weekend.
00:04 Here are some of the most important women's teams in the 3x3 basketball field.
00:10 Rafael Bandayrel will give you the details.
00:13 Following their maiden season last year,
00:19 the biggest women's 3x3 tournament in the country will return this February.
00:24 This is the Manila Hustle 3x3 Basketball
00:27 where the most talented female basketball player in Asia will compete.
00:32 16 teams will compete, including 7 local teams and 7 international squads.
00:40 The tournament director, Pichi Cheng Medina, said
00:43 that more fans will be able to watch this second season.
00:47 Last year was really very exciting.
00:50 We had 12 teams this year.
00:54 But there were a lot of points for improvement.
00:57 This year we said we're going to improve.
00:59 Our tagline is "Bigger and Better."
01:01 First things first, we moved to a bigger venue
01:04 which is double the size of what we had last year.
01:07 It opens up a lot of possibilities.
01:10 We now have a fan zone and then we have a practice court
01:14 which is very important in improving the quality of the game.
01:17 This year, the competition level is expected to increase
01:21 because foreign teams have been added to the team.
01:24 For the Philippine Executive Director, Erica D,
01:28 this is a great opportunity for the local teams to have a chance to play.
01:34 On top of the 9 international teams, most of the local teams also have imports.
01:38 And as I understand it, when it comes to 3x3 basketball, that really elevates the game.
01:44 One of the national competitions is the 3rd Women's 3x3 Tournament.
01:49 It is organized by Christine Cayabiab, Mika Cacho, Monique Del Carmen,
01:54 and Camille Clarín of the NU Lady Bulldogs.
01:57 So the 3x3 program is definitely new.
02:01 They're separating now the 5x5 and 3x3.
02:04 So we're looking to build a good foundation based off of players
02:07 who will come through the program and prepare for longer tournaments.
02:10 So I think having the separate pools and allowing us to compete in local
02:15 and international tournaments will help create a better environment
02:18 and to help bring more success hopefully to the program in the future.
02:22 The Spanish sensation, Ari Jelly, will also play in the tournament.
02:27 She will be the import for the local team, Eurotex Tibay.
02:31 I think it will be very cool. Final, Eurotex Dream vs. Eurotex Tibay.
02:37 Manila Hustle Season 2 will be on air on Saturday, February 3 and will end on Sunday, February 4.
02:45 Tickets are on sale at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Lungsod, Pasay.
02:50 Rafael Bandayrel, Rise and Shine, Philippines.
