00:03 The Chiefs and the 49ers with San Francisco a point and
00:06 a half favorite, the over under 47 and a half.
00:10 You talk about the buildup, we still have ten days away,
00:13 about a week and a half until Super Bowl Sunday in Las Vegas.
00:17 Craig, when do you get in your Super Bowl bets?
00:19 >> Yeah, I think, look, for me, it's mostly prop stuff.
00:25 I do think because there are hundreds of props on this game,
00:31 that there are edges to be had going in.
00:33 I just simply don't think, Ben,
00:35 they're the same edges that we saw potentially, maybe, I don't know,
00:40 six, seven years ago.
00:41 And the reason why I'm kind of thin now, usually, on these Super Bowls,
00:45 is since sports betting has been legalized, and since DraftKings and
00:49 FanDuel have had props basically every week,
00:54 I just think that the odds makers, the bookmakers are just so
00:57 sharp now with these props.
00:58 Once upon a time, the only props that we really used to look at were the Super Bowl,
01:03 and there were like hundreds and hundreds.
01:04 And at the Westgate, they'd come out Sunday night, and
01:07 people would line up to get the very best odds in Las Vegas.
01:10 It's no longer the case anymore.
01:12 So I think at that time, it's not that the books allowed you to win bets,
01:16 I'm not saying that.
01:18 But what I used to say on my radio shows and
01:20 TV shows before sports betting was legalized,
01:23 were the Super Bowl props were like Pringles.
01:26 And you know why I would say that, obviously, because you can't bet just one,
01:30 right?
01:30 Nobody could walk into that sports book and say, give me Shane Vereen over
01:35 three and a half receptions, have a great night.
01:38 Nobody could do it.
01:39 It was like this prop and that prop.
01:41 And I think they knew that at that time.
01:43 So they made them very enticing.
01:45 I just don't think the advantages are there like they have been in the past.
01:49 But make no mistake about it,
01:50 the two things that we talked about earlier in the week, the first half over,
01:54 and the game over.
01:55 I do feel like the referees have called a lighter game in the playoffs in general,
02:02 outside of calling all those personal fouls against the Baltimore Ravens,
02:04 which obviously were right there, I mean, they were happening right in front of them.
02:07 What were they supposed to do, not call those?
02:09 But beyond that, no holding, no PIs.
02:12 So I do think there's gonna be a lot of scoring in the game.
02:14 And Ben, as you alluded to earlier in the week too, I'm not usually an over guy.
02:17 I usually feel like there's a lot more value on unders.
02:21 >> Let them play, Craig, as we like to say here.
02:24 Let the players decide it on the field.
02:26 Let me ask you this question,
02:27 because Ben and I were going back and forth on a previous segment.
02:29 If we take a look at the line right now at Fandul,
02:31 it's minus one and a half as a favor toward San Francisco, and
02:34 the total at 47 and a half.
02:36 If I had to ask you which one of those lines is going to move first,
02:40 the one and a half or the 47 and a half at Fandul, what would be your decision on that?
02:46 >> Yeah, I do think that probably by the time that the game kicks off,
02:51 it'll be down to one.
02:52 That would be my guess, is that San Francisco will be one point favor.
02:56 I think the general better, the novice better,
03:01 the way that the money is gonna come in just in general on this books,
03:04 is the same way it comes in on Notre Dame.
03:07 It's the same way it has come in on Alabama through the years.
03:10 It's the same way it comes in through the Dallas Cowboys.
03:12 There's a lot of people who are gonna bet on the Super Bowl,
03:15 who have never bet before.
03:16 There are a lot of people who are gonna watch the Super Bowl that generally don't,
03:20 but they know who Patrick Mahomes is, and they know who Travis Kelsey is.
03:24 And therefore, it's just easier to root for in that space.
03:28 So I do think that comes down, Donnie, to one.
03:31 But I gotta tell you, I thought Baltimore, I thought that line was gonna go
03:36 the other way toward the Chiefs last week, and it did not.
03:38 So call me crazy, maybe I'll be wrong on this one too.
03:41 Total seems really solid for where it is, 47 and a half.
03:44 I don't see that moving all that much, yeah.
