00:00 And we always talk about this with college trends when you see, you know, Michigan or
00:07 you know, Michigan is 6-2 against the spread Michigan State or whatnot.
00:11 You really go by the coaching staffs, right Mike?
00:13 Yeah.
00:14 I mean, the coaching, they are the same coaching staff.
00:15 The common thread.
00:16 And to me, this is one of the key matchups.
00:19 Everyone talks about the on-field stuff, but can Shanahan beat Reid?
00:23 I totally agree.
00:24 I think that's the biggest storyline for me and why I'm leaning.
00:26 Or I should say Spagnolo as well.
00:29 That's what I want to get to.
00:30 No doubt.
00:31 Coaching staffs for me are the biggest storyline here and I do have concerns.
00:34 You all said you looked through the box scores.
00:36 I re-watched the game just a couple of days ago.
00:39 And there was a point at which Jimmy G was 18 of 21 in that game.
00:43 And people will pile on Jimmy G and say he closed the Super Bowl 2 of 10 when he had
00:47 a 10-point lead.
00:48 Well, who helped him close that Super Bowl out was Kyle Shanahan calling passes with
00:53 a 10-point lead with 8 minutes to go.
00:55 And I still have concerns from the 2016 Super Bowl when they blew a 25-point lead.
00:59 I have concerns from what happened the other day.
01:01 I have concerns from what happened last week and two weeks ago.
01:04 They were getting beat.
01:05 They got outplayed by the Packers.
01:06 So yes, I have real concerns based on what happened four years ago.
01:10 Taddy, any concerns as far as Shanahan's concerned to carry on on his point?
01:13 There's one more too.
01:14 If we're talking about Shanahan playoff failures, notable ones, what happened to him in Washington.
01:19 There are the one playoff game with RG3 where they had a two-touchdown lead early.
01:26 And one might argue that Shanahan had something to do with the collapse of Washington.
01:30 So Shanahan's basically a guy that's been on the verge of greatness numerous times.
01:34 Sure.
01:35 Is this his time?
01:36 I mean, maybe it's his time.
01:37 Similar to Harbaugh in college?
01:38 I mean, eventually you've got to break through?
01:41 Maybe.
01:42 Nobody's doing anything in this league.
01:43 Does he have the better team?
01:45 Does he have the better team?
01:46 He does.
01:47 He has better players.
01:49 Does he?
01:50 I don't know if better team is a strong word.
01:52 Right?
01:53 That's right.
01:54 But we cannot argue the San Francisco 49ers are more skilled and deeper than the Kansas
01:58 City Chiefs are.
01:59 I think everybody loves their offensive scheme and their ability to confuse teams and get
02:04 up early on teams.
02:06 And they do play well from in front, which is why we've seen some concern in these playoffs.
02:11 Right?
02:12 Trailed against the Packers, trailed against the Lions significantly.
02:14 But everybody throwing their best pitch?
02:17 Yeah, I think the Niners are the best team in the league.
02:19 Why is it, though, that we keep hearing this?
02:22 I've heard this a lot about the Niners, how they didn't look great against Green Bay.
02:26 They didn't look, you know, well, they didn't look great.
02:29 Buffalo were a missed field goal away from sending the game to overtime.
02:33 Yes.
02:34 True.
02:35 And coulda, shoulda, woulda won.
02:36 If it wasn't Buffalo, anybody else would have finished the job, Teddy.
02:38 Sure.
02:39 But people don't bring that up as far as Kansas City.
02:40 Sure.
02:41 And it's not like Baltimore was far away either.
02:43 No.
02:44 You know, Zay Flowers.
02:45 No.
02:46 He's got the rumbles.
02:47 Yeah.
02:48 You know, inches.
02:49 But, dude, just quickly on that.
02:51 Mike, you're a great numbers guy off the top of my head.
02:54 How many yards did they rack up in the second half?
02:56 220?
02:57 218?
02:58 I mean, five punts and they didn't score on the road in a playoff game and they still
03:00 won the Chiefs.
03:01 Yeah.
03:02 In the second half, Baltimore dominated them.
03:04 They went up and down the field.
03:05 They just bought.
03:06 They didn't score.
03:07 Ben, but don't break.
03:08 You've got to give Spags credit for that.
03:09 Sure.
03:10 And that's the, I mean, for all the criticism that's been levied at KC this season, and
03:14 it's been a lot, their defense has been a dominant unit.
03:17 It's been a playoff winning unit.
03:20 And you know, you ask me what's the undervalued commodity here, it's KC's defense.
03:26 It's KC's defense.
03:27 It's KC's defense.
