Speaking with local media for the first time, new Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald discussed why he opted to take the job in the Pacific Northwest, starting with an aligned vision with John Schneider and the ownership group.

00:03 and understanding that possibly it was interest, but
00:08 given the time frame and when that opportunity would come.
00:10 But our mentality going in was just let's go with an open mind.
00:13 And if there's a great opportunity with a great partnership that feels like it's
00:17 the right thing, then that'd be something you're willing to pursue.
00:20 And then we had some great conversations throughout the process.
00:23 But like I said, when we started talking about vision and
00:29 how we wanted to play and the direction that we felt like,
00:33 that I felt like how I'd like to take the team and how that paralleled
00:39 how what they saw, it just became very clear that that was the thing that you're looking for.
00:46 So it just made sense at that point.
