00:09 Now, the Ole Miss Rebels officially announced the hire of George McDonald and

00:12 Joe Cox to the football coaching staff on Thursday.

00:16 George McDonald is wide receiver passing game coordinator and

00:19 Joe Cox is in charge of the Titans.

00:21 They're the newest additions in Oxford after the departure of Derek Nix,

00:25 who went to Auburn, and John David Baker, who went to East Carolina this offseason.

00:29 They joined the Rebels for a big season led by QB Jackson Darden wide receivers,

00:33 Jordan Watkins and Trey Harris.

00:36 We're gonna continue to elevate our coaching staff to a championship caliber

00:39 with the addition of Coach McDonald and Coach Cox to our staff.

00:43 Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said, in a school release statement,

00:46 both coaches have been a part of innovative and productive offenses in their careers.

00:50 And they have proven their ability to recruit and

00:52 develop talented players at an elite level, Kiffin says.

00:56 McDonald comes to Ole Miss from Illinois,

00:58 where he also played wide receiver during his collegiate career from 1995 to 1998.

01:03 Cox's last stop was in the same role with Alabama.

01:06 He spent the last two seasons with Nick Saban's staff at Alabama and

01:10 in his Titans coach for Charlotte 49ers in 2021 from 2016 to 2019.

01:16 Cox coached the Titans for the Colorado State Rams.
