00:00 I text him the day after he passed just because there was a part of me that was
00:06 like no he's gonna he's gonna answer back.
00:08 Brian Austin Green remembers his late co-star Luke Perry.
00:11 Relationships that I have here are you know some of the most important ones.
00:15 The Beverly Hills 90210 alum died in 2019 after suffering a massive stroke.
00:20 Luke was only 52 years old.
00:23 You know when you have that core of people that are around you that
00:28 eventually you're gonna get older and you're gonna start losing people that's
00:31 just a part of life. I honestly never expected that it would be Luke.
00:36 Amid the looming five-year anniversary of Luke's death coming up in March,
00:40 Brian, supported by his wife Sharna Burgess, opens up on the Getting Grilled
00:44 with Curtis Stone podcast.
00:45 No, I trust you.
00:47 Sort of.
00:49 Brian shares the emotional reason why he sent Luke a text message even after
00:56 learning he'd lost his friend of 30 years.
00:59 And then to hear that he had passed was I didn't completely believe it.
01:03 There was a part of me that couldn't really process that that was real.
01:09 I text him the day after he passed just because there was a part of me that was
01:15 like no he's gonna he's gonna answer back. I didn't completely believe that
01:19 but there was a big part of me that was hoping yeah that was hoping yeah that
01:24 that was the case for sure.
01:25 To everybody that's ever met him or knew him he was he was an amazing
01:29 person and he was a blessing for people to have in their lives.
01:33 In the wake of Luke's death, E.T. caught up with all the West Beverly alums.
01:37 Welcome to your dream come true.

01:41 As the ensemble reunited on screen without their Dylan McKay.
01:44 As his you know sort of on set family and I felt like it was an important time to
01:52 to all of us come together just to honor him.
01:55 It's really still so so fresh it's hard to reconcile.
01:59 We're all you know still struggling with that loss.
02:03 Well I tell you some things never change.
02:05 It's a loss that still felt fresh to the 90s stars last year.
02:10 I think we feel like there's one piece missing all the time.
02:13 He authentically made everybody feel special.
02:17 That was just him and not just us as friends like the world.
02:22 I like hearing the stories people share.
02:24 People have great stories and memories of being with Luke.
02:29 And for Brian those memories are now part of his day-to-day life while grieving his long-time pal.
02:35 Who Luke was and the relationship that I had with him and the connection that I had with him
02:41 is something that I still almost on a daily basis when things happen in my life I'll stop for a second
02:48 and I'll think about him.
02:49 I'm sure it sounds silly but like that still holds a lot of weight for me.
