00:06 Hello and welcome to another edition of 5 Things to Do, and this one covers February

00:09 5th to the 11th, and then it'll be half term, so enjoy your free time while you can.

00:14 We start this week in Lancaster because the Grand Theatre there has Barry Steele's Roy

00:18 Orbison story. Experience the unforgettable sound of a generation with Barry Steele, alongside

00:24 an ensemble of talented musicians and singers. Together they pay homage to the timeless music

00:30 of Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and the Travelling Wilburys. It's on the 11th of February and

00:34 tickets are £26 each.

00:38 To the Playhouse Theatre in Preston next, where the Broughton Players are presenting

00:41 A Bunch of Amateurs, a play written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newick. Keen to boost his

00:46 flagging career, fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steele arrives in England to play

00:50 King Lear in Stratford, only to find that it's not the birthplace of the Bard, but a

00:55 sleepy Suffolk village. And instead of Kenneth Branagh and Dame Judi Dench, the cast are

01:00 a bunch of amateurs trying to save their theatre from developers. It's been described as

01:04 Laugh A Minute, which is a lot of laughs, and on nightly from the 7th to the 10th of

01:09 February, and tickets are priced at £12.

01:12 One for Sports fans next, as the King returns to the King George's Hall in Blackburn, and

01:17 that King being Alan Shearer, in conversation with Sky Sports host Pete Graves. Shearer's

01:22 journey to the top level of English football is the stuff of legends, from Southampton

01:26 to Blackman Rovers, where he reigned as one of Europe's most prolific goal scorers and

01:30 claimed the 1994/95 Premier League title, to his triumphant return to home club town

01:36 Newcastle United for a then world record transfer fee of £15m, not to mention 63 appearances

01:42 and 30 goals for the England national team.

01:45 Casts on 9th February, tickets range from £38 to a gold VIP package for £128.

01:52 The Blackpool Grand Theatre is our next stop to have a peep at Colleen Nolan, naked. From

01:57 a child star, the youngest of the Nolan sisters, to TV personality and presenter, best-selling

02:02 author and agony aunt, Colleen Nolan has done it all. Colleen will be taking us back to

02:07 her first love and performing by singing a selection of her favourite songs, which have

02:11 become the soundtrack to her life. She'll openly discuss her love life, lessons learned

02:16 as well as challenging views on age-appropriate behaviour. That one's on 9th February and

02:21 will cost you £35 a ticket.

02:24 Lastly this week, some comedy at the Chorley Theatre, courtesy of Louise Atkinson, an award-winning

02:29 debut show all about friendship called Mates. From the happiest times to breaking up with

02:34 friends, grab a pint of wine, she suggests, and Louise will recount some of her funniest

02:39 memories. Stuart McConie said that Louise is reminiscent of Victoria Wood and Peter

02:44 Kaye. High praise indeed, and you can catch her on 9th February for a very reasonable

02:49 tenner.
