00:05 Hello and welcome to another edition of 5 Things To Do and we start this week in Southport for an evening with former Sex Pistol John Lydon.
00:12 John, aka Johnny Rotten, changed the face of music and sparked a cultural revolution.
00:17 The frontman and lyricist of the Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd caused a political earthquake and transformed music for good.
00:24 In his spoken word show, I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right, Lydon is touring the UK. He will talk about how he sees life, along with his unique and extraordinary career, and take audience questions during a pyrotechnic one-off tour.
00:37 It's at the Atkinson Theatre on Wednesday 19th June and tickets start at £33.
00:43 To Burnley next are the Mechanics Theatre who have two actors, six beloved films and one hilarious parody.
00:49 Fresh from a sold out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Six Chick Flicks is a smash hit comedy which parodies your favourite girl films in one hysterical fast paced show.
00:58 From the Deck of the Titanic to the glittery pink halls of Harvard Law, this stage is transformed with songs and dance breaks and pop culture hilarity.
01:07 It's on Friday 21st June and tickets are £24.
01:11 The same show is also on at the Lancaster Grand Theatre on Thursday 20th.
01:15 Talking of Lancaster Grand, they also have Get It On, a night of glam rock on Friday 21st June.
01:20 An outrageous celebration of a golden age live on stage. The costumes, the make-up, the music in the biggest glam rock show of a generation.
01:28 Features the biggest hits from T-Rex, Mud, Slade, Bowie, Suzy Cuatro, Wizards, Sweet and many more.
01:35 Tickets for that one are £27 each.
01:38 Now if you enjoyed the events marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day last week, you'll be glad to hear that Armed Forces Week is being marked in Blackpool between the 23rd and 30th June.
01:48 An opportunity to say thank you to all our heroes serving military personnel, veterans and cadets. They're all welcome at the resort.
01:55 There's a range of events from garden parties to services and parades and an open day at the Spitfire Visitor Centre at Blackpool Airport.
02:02 There's a full list of events at visitblackpool.com
02:06 Lastly to Preston as the city holds its Windrush Festival on Sunday 23rd June on Averham and Miller Parks.
02:14 It's a festival which has been taking place in Preston for the last 10 years with Caribbean food, singers and dancers providing the entertainment.
02:21 Each year the festival is held to encourage more people to learn about and remember the Windrush generation as they hope to continue this tradition to keep their memory alive for the younger generations.
02:30 And better still, it's a free event.
02:33 And being an outdoor event, we've everything crossed for a little sunshine.
02:37 Join me next week for another 5 Things To Do, but in the meantime, take care and have a great week.
