00:03 John Rahm has achieved so much in the game of golf.
00:06 Major winner, Ryder Cup winner and world number one,
00:09 the sky is the limit for the charismatic Spaniard.

00:14 After attending the 1997 Ryder Cup hosted at Valderrama,
00:18 his parents took up golf.
00:20 John then followed in their footsteps,
00:22 getting lessons when he was six or seven years old.
00:24 And he developed a lot of his skill
00:26 at the Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid.
00:29 From an early age, his father pushed him to move to the United States
00:32 because he believed that's where the future of golf lay.
00:35 As a result, he eventually attended Arizona State University
00:38 where he collected 11 collegiate victories.
00:41 This ranks second in the school's history
00:43 behind Juan Phil Mickelson who had 16 wins.
00:46 As a youngster, Rahm played a lot of sports,
00:49 many of them involving either a racket or a paddle.
00:51 One of them was pelota,
00:53 a bass game that's a cross between high lie and racket ball.
00:56 He also learned kung fu as a child to defend himself
00:59 after getting into fights during class.
01:01 Rahm's mental coach is Josebat del Carmen,
01:04 a man who has been a basketball player,
01:06 a debt businessman, a professional golfer and a bomb technician.
01:10 As a mental coach, he has worked with soccer and basketball teams,
01:13 CEOs and business leaders.

01:17 At the 2020 Masters, Rahm made two hole-in-ones in two days.
01:22 During the practice rounds, he made one on the fourth hole
01:25 and the next day, an ace came on the 16th
01:27 after skipping the ball over the water.
01:29 John Rahm is married to Kelly Cahill,
01:31 a former javelin thrower at Arizona State University.
01:34 They got married in Spain in December 2019
01:36 and they welcomed their first child, Keppa, in April 2021.
01:40 In 2022, they announced they were expecting a second baby boy.
01:43 Up until March 2022, Rahm held the record
01:46 for being the number one ranked male amateur in the world
01:49 for the longest period of time.
01:51 Overall, he held that distinction for 60 weeks between 2015 and 2016.
