00:00 A day after the Premier issued his election threat, it's business as usual for the government.
00:09 The Deputy Premier backing his leader's decision to attempt to reach a new, stricter agreement
00:16 with former Liberal backbenchers Lara Alexander and John Tucker.
00:20 The Premier's been quite clear that he'll now enter into an agreement making phase with
00:26 the two independents.
00:27 We hope it's fruitful and successful.
00:29 A conciliatory approach taken towards the two independents, but not the Labor opposition,
00:35 with the whiff of an election in the air.
00:38 The biggest troublemaker in the Tasmanian Parliament is in fact Rebecca White and the
00:42 Labor Party.
00:43 They create mischief, they're constantly trying to create stunts and waste of time activities.
00:50 There is one common factor here and that is Jeremy Rockleaf's leadership.
00:53 His leadership caused the defectors to leave the government.
00:58 It's a waiting game for the public, the opposition and apparently the Premier, with Mr Tucker
01:03 still considering his response to the demand for a new agreement.
01:07 And while there's talk of negotiations, some say there's little chance it will resolve.
01:13 They've made the point that they would like to be independents and they don't want to
01:18 be former Liberals committed to the necessarily the Liberal agenda on which they were elected.
01:24 And as much as the Premier insists he doesn't want an early election, is he now ready to
01:29 pull the trigger?
01:30 I think this is the off-ramp that the Premier has finally decided he needs to take.
01:37 Perhaps it's no longer a matter of if, but when.
