00:00 >> The offense took a little while to get going right now, or tonight,
00:04 just maybe because of the point guard depth.
00:05 But you guys got us within four there, I think, in the start of the third, and
00:09 then you went on that big run.
00:10 Can you kind of go through what kind of led to that big spurt there by the Pacers
00:14 in the third quarter, it was 24-4?
00:17 >> I think it was just a great play against a great team.
00:22 Obviously, they probably tough to guard, for sure, one through five.
00:28 They're always gonna help, so they're a great defensive team.
00:32 So I think we just gotta move past this one and think about tomorrow.
00:36 >> I think the major for you comes in a little bit, so a career high 35 points.
00:43 I've seen a lot more double teams right now.
00:45 How are you able to elevate your play these last couple weeks,
00:49 given how much attention you're getting defensively?
00:51 >> I think my teammates just push me to be more aggressive.
00:55 I think just being more aggressive out the gates, we have guys else.
01:00 I think everybody has to step up from me to Nate Minson.
01:06 So I think just stepping up, being more aggressive,
01:09 coming out with the energy to win the ball game.
01:13 I think that's important for us.
01:16 >> Brandon, you've talked about how your favorite player is Paul George and
01:20 how he's a three level scorer.
01:21 Can you just talk about not only being able to be in the perimeter, but
01:25 also in the mid range too?
01:26 >> Like I said, just being a three level scorer, just going off around the rim,
01:31 mid range, I think that kind of opened up a lot of just coming off screens.
01:37 But I think just, Paul George is my guy.
01:42 Hopefully see him soon here.
01:43 >> Yeah, sure.
01:44 >> How are you not letting it get to you, the team lack of success?
01:49 And because you continue to get better and better and better.
01:54 >> It's 82 games, so just can't really sit on this loss.
01:59 You can get frustrated just sitting on one loss.
02:01 I think you just gotta come with the mentality of just having a short term
02:05 memory, just coming in tomorrow and try to outwork the other team tomorrow.
02:11 >> Brandon, did you like playing the one today?
02:13 >> I think it was just my teammates boosting my confidence,
02:18 just to go out there and play any position.
02:20 It's not just me playing the one.
02:22 I think Nick Smith played the one too, so it's not just me on the court.
02:26 >> Yeah, obviously the back court's kind of light right now.
02:31 Is it in a strange way an opportunity to show that you can play point guard?
02:36 >> No.
02:38 >> Yeah, not at all.
02:39 >> Brandon, haven't seen you since, but
02:40 congratulations on being Eastern Conference Player of the Month.
02:43 Can you just talk about that athlete, but also being able to use that and
02:46 build for next month and the rest of the season?
02:49 >> It's a great accomplishment.
02:50 It's definitely one of my goals I've set.
02:54 But I think that our primary goal is not just to win,
02:59 get as many wins as we can, try to bring the great culture around Charlotte.
03:05 And just go out there and have fun with it.
03:08 >> Brandon, we've kind of seen over the last few weeks you play with more emotion,
03:12 you kind of getting your teammates kind of riled up and getting them back into
03:16 the game, do you feel like maybe since Terry's gone that you've kind of needed to
03:19 fill that void a little bit to be more of a leader, vocally?
03:25 >> Most definitely, Terry was one of our primary scorers.
03:28 And being a vet, a leader on and off the court, I think that's a big piece for us.
03:34 I think it's just, like I said, a chance to step up and be a leader that I am.
03:39 >> Thanks, guys.
03:41 >> Thank you. >> Appreciate it.
