Comelec, muling bubuksan ang voter registration sa Feb. 12
Transcript
00:00 The voter registration is again scheduled for February 12 as part of the preparations for the 2025 elections.
00:08 That's why the COMELEC released a reminder to the qualified voters.
00:13 That's what Louisa Erispo wrote.
00:16 The day before the voter registration for the 2025 National and Local Elections is just a few days.
00:25 But what should be remembered in registering?
00:29 According to the Commission on Elections, the registration will be held on February 12.
00:34 Those who are over 18 years old and should be a Filipino citizen can register.
00:40 In the process of registering, show your valid ID, fill out the forms, and on the way to verification, biometrics,
00:49 and if the registration is successful, you can get an acknowledgement receipt.
00:54 But the COMELEC is more strict in submitting their valid ID.
00:59 According to the Commission, they will only accept government ID and will not accept police clearance, company ID, and even a cedula.
01:08 Cedula is not an identification card.
01:11 There's no picture on it.
01:13 It doesn't show anything that we would find on a regular ID.
01:19 Cedula and police clearance are not IDs, even NBI clearance.
01:24 And therefore, it cannot be used for registration.
01:27 COMELEC expects that up to 3 million voters will register,
01:32 especially since the COMELEC launched the Register Anywhere Program,
01:36 where even malls will have registration and will not need to go to the local COMELEC office to register.
01:45 For those who will register in the Register Anywhere Program, just bring your ID and you will be verified in your location.
01:52 This is a huge help. You don't need to go back to the provinces.
01:56 You don't need to leave your work or studies to go back to where you really want to register.
02:04 Voter registration will last until September 30.
02:07 But COMELEC reminds us to register early.
02:11 Don't wait until the last week before September 30.
02:16 Register early, be comfortable, and at the same time, you will be more likely to be affected by your commissioner elections.
