00:05 I'm Alex Cunningham for the Xenity Formula 1 in Schools
00:08 team at Creechie High.
00:09 This is our car in development going to the Nationals
00:12 in Adelaide this March.
00:14 These cars are developed a lot about getting as light
00:18 and as aerodynamic as possible.
00:20 Recently, we've been introduced with the halo design.
00:23 We've 3D printed our halo, our front and rear aerofoils.
00:28 Our main car is made of balsa wood,
00:30 and our wheels are ceramic bearings.
00:33 Developing this was very much about losing as much weight
00:36 to counter for this halo, meaning
00:38 that we've dug out some on the inside of the side pods
00:44 and overall lean on the bottom.

00:51 My role is design engineer.
00:53 We have a graphics designer, a team manager who manages us all,
00:59 and a communications and finance manager
01:02 who hooks us up with sponsors and communications
01:04 with different companies and businesses to get us there.
01:08 Look forward to meeting other people with an interest in STEM,
01:11 learning more about engineering and how
01:14 we can improve upon what we've done
01:16 and in all aspects of the competition.
01:18 Look forward to being able to travel to new places
01:21 and see new things.
