00:40 >> You see the guy like Rashid just emerge the way that he has, young player.
00:47 Have you seen a rookie around you guys at that point where he's like,
00:50 step up the way he has?
00:52 >> He's done a great job, man.
00:53 I mean, it's hard in this offense to learn everything that Coach Rick wants you to do,
00:58 all the different kind of routes, how we run them versus man versus zone,
01:02 all that different type of stuff.
01:04 And he's done a good job of just learning from his mistakes and
01:06 not making the same mistake twice and getting better and better.
01:09 And that's why his role has gotten bigger and bigger as the season goes on.
01:12 >> Pat, real quick, I've been asking a lot of guys on the Chiefs if they would get
01:16 a tattoo of your face anywhere on their body for a guaranteed Super Bowl win.
01:20 Some guys said yes, some said no.
01:22 Shouldn't the answer be 100% yes?
01:24 >> 100% yes.
01:25 I'm doing whatever it takes for the Super Bowl win for sure.
01:27 >> Right?
01:28 >> Yeah, 100%.
01:29 >> What about the guys that say they shouldn't get it?
01:31 >> Of course, the Super Bowl win in the past five seasons,
01:34 of course, the Super Bowl.
01:35 How does that make you feel?
01:37 >> Yeah, I mean, it's humbling because I never thought I would be in this many
01:40 Super Bowl games, honestly.
01:42 I mean, you strive to be great, but you understand how hard it is to even be in
01:46 this game.
01:47 And for us to be in my fourth one and my six years of starting,
01:52 it truly is remarkable.
01:53 And I don't take it for granted because you never know if you're going to be able
01:56 to win this game.
01:57 >> Yeah, and what does the offensive team do as we get in order to be even more
02:00 kind of --
02:01 >> Yeah, I think we've got to -- first off, take care of the football.
02:04 They're very opportunistic.
02:06 They get turnovers.
02:07 They fly off to the football.
02:08 They play hard.
02:09 And then we have to match their intensity.
02:11 I mean, they're a really good team, offense, defense, defense teams.
02:14 They do it all.
02:15 And so we have to match that intensity through and through in order to win the
02:17 football game.
02:18 >> I'm glad you heard about Bobby Wood's contract.
02:20 >> Oh, yeah, I definitely heard about Bobby Wood's contract.
02:23 I'm glad he's going to be in Kansas City for the long run.
02:26 And just knowing the guy and how hard he works, it's going to do tremendous
02:29 things for that organization because when you have a leader like that that's
02:33 young and really is inspired to make this team great, that's what you want.
02:36 >> You guys have much relation -- you guys text or anything like that?
02:39 Or have any type of --
02:41 >> Yeah, we talk to each other a little bit here and there.
02:44 I listen to texts and stuff like that.
02:45 I'll just ask him sometimes in Dallas.
02:48 Luckily for me, we're in the Super Bowl, so I won't probably see him this
02:51 season.
02:52 He'll probably be already headed back by the time I get there.
02:54 But he's the right type of guy that you want to lead in an organization.
02:58 I think everybody knows that.
02:59 That knows him.
03:01 And he wants to do it in Kansas City, which I always think is special because
03:05 Kansas City is a special place, and they get behind their teams.
03:08 And you want the Royals to be in that World Series primary, too.
03:10 >> You and Travis have been fighting for the most time in this sport.
03:15 What is it about your chemistry that's been able to help you guys?
03:19 How did you all converge?
03:21 >> I think it's just -- he wants to win, man.
03:23 He's a competitor.
03:24 He comes to work every single day, and he's the hardest-working guy in there.
03:27 And whenever the competition gets harder, he plays even better.
03:30 So I think with Travis, it's just he wants the ball, but at the same time, he
03:34 just wants to win.
03:35 And I think I can always go out there and play the guys that we're going to put
03:38 it all on.
03:39 >> And what do you remember about the first day meeting?
03:43 >> Yeah, just how good of a guy he was.
03:45 When you meet some of those guys that have been superstars in this league, you
03:48 never know what to expect.
03:50 And I think the moment you meet Travis, and I think everybody knows that's met him,
03:54 is he's truly just a good guy, man.
03:56 He loves football, but that family really made us -- they're good people that want
04:00 to make the world a better place.
04:02 >> How do you feel hurting that -- >> He's a great football player.
04:16 He makes a lot of flashy plays.
04:17 He makes all the right plays.
04:19 And very even-keeled.
04:21 He doesn't get too high or too low.
04:22 That's what you want to do at the quarterback position.
04:25 But he's a guy that goes out there and just competes.
04:27 He goes out there and competes.
04:29 He finds a way to win football games, and that's what you do in this league.
04:32 >> How do you feel hurting that?
04:33 You don't really know how to -- so she's not actually a football player.
04:36 What do you think about too much football?
04:38 >> Yeah, I mean, helping the girls.
04:42 I think it's extremely cool.
04:43 I mean, just for her to just be in the game, and obviously she's just here to support Travis
04:48 in the best way possible.
04:50 But I think it has done a great job of bringing more people to football and how great this
04:54 sport is.
04:55 And knowing that I'm a father to a daughter as well, I love that she watches the games
05:00 and loves football as well.
05:02 So I know a lot of fans out there get to have those moments with their kids as well.
05:05 >> Patrick, how in your own words would you describe what a dynasty is?
05:09 >> Yeah, I mean, the biggest thing about the dynasty is consistency.
05:14 Trying to be consistently great every single year.
05:16 Not being -- not getting too big-headed or satisfied with where you're at.
05:22 But you need to do it year in and year out.
05:24 I don't think you can really say that you're a dynasty until it's over and people will
05:29 look back at your career and how you did it.
05:31 So for me, it's just trying to be great every single year.
05:33 And when I look back at my career, I'll know that I'm doing it again.
05:36 >> Patrick, Patrick, Patrick, what do you see --
05:38 one of your friends told me about you were going to hide the throw to first base.
05:41 I was wondering if you could tell me what age you were and who told you that.
05:45 >> Yeah, no, it was a tee ball.
05:47 We played tee ball, and I moved up.
05:50 I was younger than all the kids I was playing with.
05:52 And I was playing shortstop.
05:53 They hit me in the ball.
05:54 I threw it across the diamond, and it hit the kid right in the face and broke his glasses.
05:57 And so they told me after that they wanted me to roll the ball to first base.
06:02 And I ended up just playing first base and catching it from then on.
06:05 And I didn't know.
06:06 Growing up, I'd always been able to catch, throw, and stuff like that.
06:09 And so I didn't know that everybody couldn't do that.
06:11 So I ended up hitting that kid with the first practice.
06:13 >> Did you have any other rules that stand out as a kid growing up?
06:16 >> Not too many.
06:17 I mean, I always just -- I loved sports from the beginning, all sports.
06:21 I loved watching.
06:22 I loved playing.
06:23 I mean, the only other thing I can think of is I remember my mom used to get mad at me
06:26 because I would throw -- you know kids throw the ball off the wall?
06:29 I would throw it off the TV because I was watching TV at the same time,
06:32 and she used to get real mad that I was doing that.
06:34 I didn't ever break a TV, but she definitely didn't like that.
06:37 >> You're almost a full season of playoff football, 17 games.
06:40 What's the biggest piece of, I guess, advice that you give teammates on how to go through this process?
06:46 >> I think just be yourself.
06:48 You've got to have a plan, and I think Coach Reed does a great job of having a plan for the entire week,
06:53 every single playoff week.
06:55 But just be yourself.
06:56 I mean, go through your plan, get yourself ready to go.
06:58 And then when you get on the football field, know that you're there for a reason.
07:01 You've put in the work.
07:02 And you've got to be the best you can possibly be.
07:04 >> Patrick?
07:06 >> I don't know if it's photographic because I was good in school, but I wasn't that good.
07:11 But I think I have a really good feel for it.
07:15 He showed me something one time, especially on the football field.
07:18 I remember it, so there's times when blitzes will come up from three or four years in the past,
07:23 and I just remember the look and can kind of get ourself in the right play.
07:27 As far as football, I'm pretty good at remembering that stuff.
07:30 >> Patrick, what do you tell us about your time with Corey Hicks?
07:34 >> Yeah, he's a great person, man, someone that truly loves the game of football,
07:38 works his tail off every single day, and gets the best out of his guys, especially his quarterbacks.
07:44 So I'm excited for him to have another opportunity in the NFL.
07:47 I thought he did a great job in Arizona, especially with the offense.
07:50 So I think he'll do a great job in Washington and get that offense going.
07:54 >> Patrick?
07:55 >> Going to him, the way he does, I think you can't tell about him.
07:59 He always believed in me from the beginning, even when I wasn't getting a lot of offers coming out of high school.
08:04 And then when I got there, he evolved the offense to really fit my game.
08:08 I think that's what you're going to do as a great offense coordinator in this league,
08:11 is you have to evolve the offense to fit the guys that you have, and I think he's done that everywhere he's been.
08:15 >> Patrick, what is the difference you see out of the 49ers under Steve Wilkes?
08:18 The last two times you faced him, D'Amico Ryan, Arvistar, and the Super Bowl,
08:22 what are the differences you see out of this defense under Wilkes?
08:25 >> Yeah, I mean, Coach Wilkes is a great defensive coordinator.
08:29 I mean, I've played him in a couple spots, and he does a great job of game planning, different blitzes and stuff like that.
08:34 He's always throwing a wrinkle in there.
08:37 The two defensive coordinators that were before him were great coaches.
08:39 I mean, that's why they're great coaches where they're at right now.
08:41 And so they were a great scheme, and he's done some of that scheme, but he's put his own stamp on that defense
08:47 as far as his pressure packages, his different coverages.
08:51 He obviously has done the stuff that they've been great at for a long time.
08:55 I think he's done a tremendous job with that, but he puts his own stamp on the defense,
08:58 and that's something we have to be prepared for.
08:59 >> How does it feel?
09:00 I was going against Traverius Warding, and how does that feel?
09:02 >> Yeah, I know. Traverius is a great player, man.
09:04 I remember when he first got to the Kansas City Chiefs, he was coming,
09:07 he got him up like a practice squad training for the Cowboys,
09:10 and you could see from day one he was going to be the starter from the way he played.
09:13 And he's a physical guy.
09:15 He'll get up in your face.
09:16 He challenges you.
09:18 And then whenever the opportunity comes, he'll be aggressive and try to go make the play.
09:22 I'm happy for him, man.
09:23 He's done a great job in San Francisco, and I'm glad he's getting the shine.
09:27 I think he's always deserved it.
09:28 >> Patrick, you threw a touchdown to Travis.
