00:00 John Lopez, the Broncos trade down just seems to be the only way to get enough value.
00:04 So he's already talking a little bit of a Broncos in the draft here.
00:07 I mean, talking about getting enough value, it depends on what the offer is, right?
00:12 It depends on who's on the board.
00:14 It depends on who's willing to come up.
00:15 It depends on what they're willing to come get up.
00:18 So if you're talking about value in terms of filling out the roster and rookie contracts,
00:24 probably the only way you can do that is trade back and hit on multiple guys.
00:27 But the further you get back from one overall, the lower the hit rate.
00:30 So that's hard to do.
00:32 But the overall value probably stays similar.
00:34 It's just you have a higher range of outcomes with the more picks you have.
00:39 Any thoughts on that?
00:42 You think trade back is the only way to get value or roster a good team next year?
00:46 Well, I mean, it's always you still got to get the right players.
00:50 I mean, like I said, if you trade back and don't get any kind of talent, I mean,
00:54 the Browns did that for years.
00:56 Where they would trade back and everybody like, oh, look at all this,
00:59 all these draft picks they have.
01:00 They're really building out this roster.
01:02 And then like 90% of the players were terrible.
01:05 You could blame that more on organization and not having great coaching and all those
01:10 kind of things.
01:10 But still, if you can't get the right guys and let's say somebody's there at pick 12
01:16 that you really like and think, hey, this guy could be a long-term solution at a very key
01:21 position.
01:22 Let's say one of the tackles falls to you.
01:25 Maybe one of the edge guys.
01:26 And you're just like, hey, we need that core piece on the line that we don't have right
01:30 now.
01:31 One of the wide receivers, you know, neighbors or a doomsday falls there.
01:36 I mean, right now, if you want to bring in a quarterback, you better have some weapons
01:42 for them to throw to.
01:43 And I'm not sure you got enough right now on this roster.
01:45 I know you don't have enough on this roster right now.
01:47 It's not even I think.
01:48 Especially because a lot of the guys here are probably gone, right?
01:52 And you're talking about the weapons.
01:54 I mean, are you keeping one of the three, two of the three of Sutton, Judy and Patrick?
01:59 I mean, who knows?
02:01 But you're definitely going to end Mims.
02:03 Is he going to develop into more than just a specialist right now?
02:06 I mean, that's what he is kind of a gadget guy slash specialist.
02:08 I mean, hold on to the damn ball.
02:10 But that's a yeah, we'll see.
02:13 There's definitely a lot of options here.
02:14 I know that Mel Kiper's mentioned many times about the nifty nine as far as the top nine
02:19 offensive guys in this class and shout out to Mel Kiper, the godfather.
02:23 I mean, we're doing what we do and love it because of him getting that ball rolling.
02:27 So appreciate him.
02:27 But he talks about the nifty nine.
02:29 Maybe you have a chance of one of those guys.
02:30 If not, you're probably still going to have a good chance at a tackle quarterback.
02:33 If you like one of those guys, a cornerback, edge rusher.
02:37 I mean, there's going to be somebody good is going to be available at 12.
02:40 You're probably going to miss out on the blue chippers, but you're going to have options at 12.
02:44 And maybe that means people want to trade up.
