00:27 Cyberbullying is rampant these days, especially among young people.
00:30 So, fellow students, join me in finding out what laws are protecting young people against cyberbullying and other online violence.

01:13 Being mean through text or emails, social media cruelty, online rumor propagation, false info spreading, private image sharing, malicious impersonation, online exclusion, hate groups or websites.

01:38 Of course, sir, that's prohibited because if you share a person's picture, they should have permission, especially if it's private.
01:46 Dear friends, we have laws against cyberbullies and other online harassment.
01:52 First is the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013 or Republic Act No. 10627.
01:56 It recognizes the importance of preventing and responding to bullying, including cyberbullying, in educational institutions.
02:02 Schools are mandated to adopt policies and mechanisms to effectively handle and address bullying incidents.
02:08 If students are found guilty, they will go through counseling and intervention while the other personnel will be imprisoned up to one year and pay a penalty of up to P100,000.
02:17 Second, Article 15, Section 3 of the 1987 Constitution.
02:21 It states that the government's duty is to uphold children's rights, including protecting them from all forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation, and other conditions prejudicial to their development.
02:32 If found guilty of RA 7610, Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, possible punishment is imprisonment of up to 40 years or reclusion perpetua and pay a minimum penalty of P50,000.
02:45 Third is the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 or the Republic Act No. 10175.
02:50 This law criminalizes various cybercrimes, including online libel, identity theft, and harassment.
02:56 If found guilty, possible punishment is imprisonment of up to 12 years and pay a penalty of up to P500,000.
03:02 The other laws that protect children online are the Child and Youth Welfare Code, which obligates parents, the community, and the government and other sectors to defend the children's rights and responsibilities.
03:11 Republic Act No. 9775 or an act defining and penalizing the crime of child pornography is prescribing penalties therefore and for other purposes, outlines the state's duty to protect all children from exploitation and abuse for pornographic use.
03:26 And lastly, Republic Act No. 11930. Enacted in 2022, this law includes the responsibilities of the private sector and social media platforms in preventing and curtailing the predation of children with or without internet use.
