Sheffield weather: Traffic chaos around Broad Lane, Netherthorpe Road and the University as snow continues

00:00 As we can all see Sheffield has been absolutely covered in snow. The advice at the minute is to

00:05 not drive if you can help it and after just taking a 20 minute walk around broadway roundabout

00:10 and part of the ring road you can absolutely see why. In just 15-20 minutes I've seen cars with

00:16 their wheels spinning, I've seen people trying to dislodge their tires from the ice, I've seen cars

00:23 trying to get up hills failing sliding back down and just stuck blocking main roads and it's not

00:29 just cars either a lorry has come off broad lane and is stuck on St George's Close facing downhill

00:35 the driver's been trying to dig out their tires and a group of students and locals

00:40 has been directing the traffic on broad lane to try and give them a chance to get out.

00:44 Unless you absolutely have to travel try and avoid it today because the snow is still coming down

00:49 thick and fast and it's not showing any sign of stopping yet.
