Clare Tierney of Rochester City Centre Forum talks about the prospect of losing two of Medway's biggest events
Transcript
00:00 The summer Dickens I don't think has been very successful over a period of time anyway.
00:05 And certainly from a business perspective, I don't have an issue with the council making
00:13 a difficult decision here.
00:14 If you don't have that much in your budget, you would obviously look to cut or reduce
00:21 things that don't work so well.
00:23 And certainly those two events aren't as successful as the Sweeps and the Dickens.
00:30 It's just a sign of the times.
00:32 And I think it's a really positive thing moving forward that that collaboration expands out.
00:38 We you know, we're much stronger if we all work together.
00:43 The collaboration between the businesses and the community and the council is I think the
00:50 only way forward when you are faced with the kind of budget cuts and the restrictions and
00:56 the caps that the council are facing.
