00:00 "No, Debbie, that's biology. That's not consent."
00:05 Welcome to Ms Mojo, and today we're looking at Times TV characters
00:11 lost the plot completely or went full villain mode.
00:15 For this list, we're looking at live-action TV only, and there may be spoilers.
00:21 "I don't care who your family is. When you commit a crime,
00:24 Miss Gilmore, there must be consequences, period."
00:29 Number 10. Carrie cheats on Aiden. Sex and the City.
00:34 "You know, you can't just keep changing the time around like this. I have a schedule too."
00:37 Carrie Bradshaw's whole thing is that she's a writer whose topic of choice is relationships.
00:44 That doesn't mean she's great at navigating romance herself. If she was, there wouldn't be a
00:50 show. But you didn't have to be a columnist to know that cheating on a great guy like Aiden for
00:56 an emotionally stunted playboy like Mr Big was not a good idea. "The other guy has a name,
01:03 it's Aiden, and you have a wife, Natasha." Breaking the news in public at her friend
01:08 Charlotte's wedding just seemed like adding insult to injury. Maybe it's just a matter of
01:15 taste, but it did seem like a boneheaded decision. "You broke my heart!"
01:21 Number 9. Olivia Pope orders a hit. Scandal.
01:32 "Cyrus, you need to stop. And you need to think, because if you don't give me what I want here,
01:37 I'll consider that an act of war. And I know you understand why you wouldn't want me as your enemy."
01:42 The final season of Shonda Rhimes' soapy political thriller found crisis management specialist
01:48 Olivia Pope trading in her white knight costume for a black hat. Caught between responsibilities
01:54 in the White House and a literal spy network, she engages in some light treason. When President
02:01 Mellie Grant wants to declare war on a politically advantageous region whose president she's
02:07 romantically interested in, Olivia orchestrates his death. She arranges for a bomb to kill him
02:15 and his innocent niece as their plane takes off. "She was planning her future, her life!" "You're
02:21 not thinking straight. That's understandable. I can't imagine what you're feeling right now."
02:24 "This isn't about my feelings. This is about you." It's not the first life Olivia's taken,
02:28 but for someone who used to talk herself up as a white knight, she's certainly become comfortable
02:35 killing anyone who gets in the way of her agenda. "Let's not forget section 1116, murder
02:43 of internationally protected persons. You got a couple of counts of that coming your way too."
02:47 Number 8. The team turns on Buffy. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After years of battling against
02:55 supernatural villains of all kinds, Buffy Summers and the Scooby Gang are up against the vicious
03:01 Caleb. However, when things are pushed to a breaking point, the team confronts Buffy,
03:07 confessing that they no longer trust her leadership. "For seven years I've kept us safe by doing this."
03:13 "Exactly this. Making the hard decisions. And now what, suddenly you're all acting like you can't
03:20 trust me?" Even her best friends, Willow and Zander, and her sister Dawn, are no longer on her
03:26 side. Despite all she's done for them, including saving their lives more times than we can count,
03:33 they essentially throw her out of her own house. "So I need you to leave.
03:41 I'm sorry." This doesn't last, as the group is kinda useless without her guidance. But turning
03:48 on her is so out of left field that it's hard to see the logic in it all. "Whether you wanted it
03:54 or not, their lives are yours." Number 7. Dan is Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl. "Now, do you think I
04:05 want you?" The series finale of this CW classic opened up a wormhole that you just can't ignore
04:13 on repeat viewings of the show. Perennial outsider and sensitive writer Dan Humphrey
04:19 reveals that he began the infamous Gossip Girl blog as a years-long ploy to woo the socialite
04:27 Serena Van Der Woodsen. Apparently, his love for her didn't stop him from publishing her secrets.
04:35 "Claire, I think you're just mad because Dan was the one who was pulling the strings all along."
04:39 "This whole time, I had more power than you?" It certainly makes all those times he was alone
04:44 reading the Gossip Girl blog or receiving emails from her seem illogical. You could argue that he
04:51 had to do all this to cover his tracks. But then what's the point? Either he's a giant sociopath,
04:58 or it's just an audience-insulting plot twist thrown in for pure shock value.
05:04 "Who am I now? That's one secret I'll never tell. XOXO, Gossip Girl."
05:11 Number 6. Blaine Cheats on Kurt. Glee. "I will call you or text you on a break, okay?"
05:17 "I love you." Relationships are hard, especially when you have all those musical numbers to
05:24 remember. Kurt and Blaine, dubbed "Clane" by fans, weren't exempt from the pressures of adulthood.
05:30 Despite transferring schools to be with Kurt and enjoying a shockingly problem-free relationship,
05:37 Blaine cheated on Kurt in season 4. "It didn't mean anything. It was just a hookup, okay?"
05:42 "Who was it?" "It doesn't matter who was with Kurt. What matters is that I was by myself.
05:47 I needed you. I needed you around and you weren't there. And I was lonely. And I'm...
05:53 I'm really sorry." Given that Blaine suspected Kurt of cheating the season before,
05:59 it's kind of interesting how much the tables have turned. Turning it back on Kurt, Blaine doesn't
06:06 seem capable of actually taking accountability. Fans suspected it was just lazy writing,
06:13 meant to stir up some drama at the expense of Blaine's established character.
06:18 "Why'd you do that to him?" "I don't know. I just...
06:21 There's no excuse. He won't talk to me. I don't even know if we're broken up."
06:26 5. Rory Cheats With Dean - Gilmore Girls
06:31 "Why are you so mad?" "I'm not mad. I'm working."
06:33 No one flames out quite like Rory Gilmore. She may be the golden child of Starz Hollow,
06:40 Connecticut, but clearly her credits didn't transfer when it came to common sense.
06:46 Dropping out of Yale and not speaking to her mother for months was bad enough,
06:50 but so much of her trouble started when she acted out of jealousy over her high school boyfriend,
06:57 Dean. "I'm sorry." "You are?" "I'm sorry you're not happy."
07:02 Knowing he was married but unable to handle someone else with him, she acted on an impulse
07:08 and even had the audacity to throw it in her mother's face.
07:12 "He's married." "You don't understand the situation."
07:14 "Is he still married?" "Yes, but..."
07:16 "Then I understand the situation." When the show started, she was a confused teenager
07:21 who wanted to do the right thing. In moments like these, it's clear just how much growing up she
07:28 didn't do. "He wasn't cheating."
07:30 "He was cheating, Rory. He was cheating, and you were cheating with him. There's no other
07:35 way to spin that, kid." "I'm not spinning it, and I'm not a kid. I'm 19."
07:39 Number 4, Daenerys' Downfall - Game of Thrones "She trusted you to spread secrets
07:47 that could destroy your own queen." On paper, Daenerys Targaryen's trajectory
07:52 makes complete sense. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. While we initially cheered for her,
07:59 once she assumes power, she is plagued by vengeance and paranoia and kills friend and
08:06 foe alike. "You committed treason." "I freed my brother, and you slaughtered a city."
08:17 At a glance, it's a powerful and tragic story. Viewers had always seen the potential for her
08:24 to turn to the dark side, but her arc, along with several other characters, felt rushed and
08:31 incomplete at series end. "The world we need won't be built by men loyal to the world we have."
08:38 Once a fierce but pragmatic and moral leader, Daenerys' switch to merciless tyrant felt unearned
08:46 and underbaked. It gave fans just one more reason to feel cheated by the epic show's final season.
08:54 "You are my queen. Now and always."
08:59 3. What Debbie Does to Matty - Shameless "Hi." "Hey, you." "Um, I saved these for you."
09:06 "Thanks." It was easy to feel sorry for Debbie Gallagher in the early seasons. She was just old
09:14 enough to handle some major tasks, but still too young to have to take on all that she had to.
09:20 I mean, she did steal a baby, but she was young then.
09:24 "Why would you steal a little boy and dress him like a little girl?"
09:28 "Because, honey." "I wanted a girl, but there weren't any."
09:32 As the seasons wore on, though, Debbie's manipulative side came to light. In season 5,
09:39 she drugs and assaults Matty, an older boy she likes, and seems to show no remorse or even
09:46 understanding of what she's done. On a show where terrible behaviour is sort of the point,
09:52 it stands out as one of the worst and most disturbing moments.
09:58 "Did I say I wanted to?" "Not exactly."
10:02 "Debbie, I was barely conscious."
10:06 2. Alex Leaves Joe for Izzy - Grey's Anatomy "Dear Dr. Bailey, I regret to inform you,
10:13 blah blah blah, that I will not be returning to Grey's Long."
10:17 Over the many, many, many seasons of the ABC medical drama, Alex Karev underwent a massive
10:26 transformation. He went from being an arrogant and soulless intern to a caring paediatric surgeon.
10:34 No one could blame actor Justin Chambers for wanting to move on after 16 seasons. However,
10:40 the character's exit came with a massive setback in the character development.
10:46 "I left, and I'm with Izzy."
10:49 He returned to his former flame Izzy Stevens, who had left the show several seasons prior
10:56 and left his current girlfriend Jo Wilson with only a letter.
11:01 "I wish getting everything I always wanted didn't have to hurt you in the process."
11:07 Given Wilson's abandonment issues, it seems like something the old Alex would do.
11:12 It's not the worst moment on this list, but it's one of the most character-betraying.

11:35 1. Scott's Tots - The Office
11:38 If you want to strike deep fear, shame, and cringe into the hearts of The Office fans
11:45 everywhere, two words will do it. Scott's Tots.
11:59 We may want to forget it ever happened, and the lucky among us may have learned to forget,
12:05 but it will never really go away.
12:08 In this sixth season episode, Michael Scott is forced to tell several underprivileged students
12:15 that he can't fulfill his promise to pay for their college.
12:19 This is after they've spent a decade believing they had a college funds.
12:24 "I will not be able to pay for anybody's tuition."
12:27 "I'm so, so sorry."
12:31 Even fans who don't skip over the episode on a rewatch
12:35 can't deny it's one of the show's most horrific episodes.
