Designer Dennis Basso's Fall 2024 offerings take inspiration from his hometown New York City in Autumn. His showing at his flagship store in midtown last night brought longtime friend and fan Real Housewives, Kelly Killoren Bensimon and a slew of others who drooled over what he called 'return to luxury dressing.' Luxury it is. Sable, chinchilla, mink, silk chiffon, brocade, cashmere, tweed create his undeniable statement gowns, pantsuits, and trench coats, with lavish embellishment and hand-embroidery detail. The looks he says 'embody the New York City woman, whether it's a young woman in her 20s or a woman of a certain age, New York will always be the gateway to fashion... my inspiration.'

00:24 So I took my inspiration from the glamour of the streets of New York, from downtown to uptown, and tried to bring it all together.
00:33 So we're featuring animal print and Dutchess satin, which is amazing.
00:38 Whether it's a trench coat, a cashmere pantsuit, with big oversized embellished crystals.
00:45 So there's a little bit for everyone and I wanted it to be cross-generational.

01:02 You know, Dennis and I have been friends for so long, so every season that he has a show, I always show up.
01:09 I love all the pattern and I love the juxtaposition of the satin and the sparkle, I really love that.
01:17 We're seeing so many women just so dressed up today, which is so beautiful.
01:21 But there's just so many beautiful, beautiful, elegant and light pieces.

01:31 I tried to have a large enough collection to be able to design things that are certain for all ages.
01:40 So it's not just directed at one age group, it's directed at a series of different age groups to be able to fit in.
01:48 We're all dressing younger, but to stay within your age group, and I think that's what's important, to look fabulous in your own right.
