Four years after its debut, the Corolla Cross receives a mid-lifecycle update to help it fight against the competition

The Toyota Corolla Cross is a compact SUV that has many different faces depending on the market. The Thailand-specific version has recently been refreshed and has moved closer to the European, Japanese and American models in terms of technology, while retaining distinct facial features.

The facelift of the Thailand-spec Toyota Corolla Cross comes almost four years after its 2020 debut. The highlight of the exterior upgrades is the redesigned grille with body-color trim and honeycomb pattern. Additionally, the model adopts a new set of LED Crystallized headlights with sequential turn signals, already available in other markets. These connect to the Toyota badge via a trim piece that resembles the full-width LED design of other models.

The rest of the bodywork is carried over from the pre-facelift version, including the sporty body kit of the GR Sport trim, which remains unchanged. The color palette features five shades, including the new Cement Gray Metallic.

The interior of the facelifted Corolla Cross features a new panoramic frameless roof that comes with an electric sunshade. The digital cockpit consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment system compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Equipment includes a wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports, dual-zone air conditioning and the improved Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite. Finally, the interior upholstery is available in black or dark rose tones.

Like the previous model, the updated model is offered with a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter gasoline engine or a 1.8-liter self-charging hybrid powertrain. The non-electric version sends power to the front wheels through the Super CVT-i transmission, producing 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS) and 172 Nm (127 lb-ft) of torque. The more efficient hybrid combines a 1.8-liter engine with an electric motor, producing a total power of 121 hp (90 kW / 122 PS) and is transmitted to the front wheels via the E-CVT transmission.

Sales of the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross have already started in Thailand. Pricing ranges from 999,000 baht ($27,825) for the entry-level 1.8 Sport to 1,254,000 baht ($34,920) for the flagship HEV GR Sport.
