00:00 Guys, congratulations on the series. I've watched it all, all the way through.
00:05 Let me just start off though with the standard question because obviously everyone, well,
00:09 most people have heard about the film. So just tell us what is different about your
00:14 series.
00:15 So much. We spend way more time with the events of the book. It's so different tonally, like
00:20 massively. And I think it's also like a lot more nostalgic. It feels much more like the
00:26 time period than I think maybe the film did.
00:29 But that was very intentional on the part of the creators.
00:32 And did you guys film it in chronological order? Because I very much even felt like
00:37 your chemistry, and I know you're actors so this is what you have to do, but it felt like
00:40 it grew as the series went on.
00:43 Yeah, we did it fairly chronologically. We were definitely sort of jumping back and forth.
00:50 Did you feel your chemistry kind of growing as you went through it?
00:54 No.
00:55 No, no, no.
00:56 I don't think it plateaued. Yeah. No, I don't know. But everyone's actually in so many different
01:03 situations with each other that it's hard to nail what the relationship is. But yeah,
01:10 we're just glad it works. Yeah.
01:12 It does work. How familiar were you with each other's work beforehand? Because obviously,
01:17 Leo, I think most people have seen you in White Lotus and Anne Bo'Key extraordinary
01:24 in This Is Gonna Hurt. So how familiar were you before you worked together?
01:28 Well, I was still filming Lotus.
01:30 Oh, I hadn't even come out.
01:31 Oh, blimey.
01:32 No, no, no. So she had no idea who I was. But I'd seen This Is Gonna Hurt and I was
01:36 very excited to meet her. And then I was really rooting for you to be Emma. I have told you
01:42 that.
01:43 Yeah, yeah, you have told me that.
01:44 Sorry, I pretend it's the first time.
01:45 I'm surprised.
01:46 That is pretty much the first time.
01:48 Did you have a particular favourite year that you guys got to film?
01:53 I think our costumes, well mine especially, and the hair is the most extreme in episode
01:59 one. It feels fully 80s. And both those outfits and that hair mean a lot to me. So yeah, that
02:06 was the most transformative year for me. It just felt full on 80s.
02:11 Hopefully it's no spoilers that Leo or Dex, I'm going to say, has a crush on Emma. And
02:16 again, you don't like to say that you've got a crush on him, vice versa. I'm curious whether
02:20 you are people who do like to mention to someone when you've got a crush on them or you keep
02:25 it. Because I'm not, I can't keep anything to myself.
02:27 Really?
02:28 No, I can't. I can't do it. I'm awful. So if I like someone, I'm like, I fancy you.
02:35 And I'm just curious whether you are like that.
02:37 No, I would never. I would take it to my grave. It's so humiliating to fancy someone and to
02:43 have to be to be in that vulnerable position. I would never ever, ever let on. Maintain
02:50 power at all costs.
02:52 That's fair. This is why I'm single.
02:54 I think you've got a good poker face as well.
02:57 Yeah.
02:58 Because you do go through so many years in this, what was it like going back and using
03:03 the old gadgets like a Nokia and actual telephone, like all of that kind of weirdness that I
03:09 say weird. I was a live trainer. So it's normal for me. I had to get taught how to use a lot
03:16 of the stuff like the pay phone and like the money and being told when to put the money
03:21 in and like, yeah, because most of that stuff I just wouldn't know and we would just start
03:28 using it and people would be like no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
03:33 baby. No, not like that. So yeah, that was a real learning curve. Yeah.
03:36 I had a big, big mobile. I don't know if you'd call it...
03:40 It's a mobile, you do it.
03:44 Back in the day. Back in the day when I was alive and you guys made it work. Good job
03:49 with the series that I have with guys and good luck with it as well.
03:52 Thank you so much.
03:53 Thank you.
