00:00 >> Coach, I know you've got a lot of respect for Arizona.
00:02 You talk about the delicacy of leaving Arizona and
00:06 bringing in some of those people, cuz I know that's gotta be just tough at times.
00:10 And also give us a little bit of insight to some of the guys that you
00:13 followed you here in Arizona.
00:15 >> Yeah, I mean, I've said it before that Sunday was so emotional and
00:21 challenging because you knew deep down what was best and what was right.
00:26 And taking care of your family, your coach's families, and so many other people.
00:30 And going to compete at the most unbelievable institution and
00:34 go play in the greatest setting in college football.
00:37 It's not hard if you look at it in the rational way.
00:42 If you don't let your emotions get involved in that decision.
00:46 Unfortunately, we all let our emotions get involved.
00:48 So it was very hard when we made that decision to come here.
00:52 Once we got here, we realized why we got here.
00:54 And how special University of Washington is.
00:57 The players that have chosen to join us, whether that be Jonah Coleman,
01:04 Orfeasian Price, Jordan Shaw,
01:07 DeMond Williams, and others that have signed or will sign.
01:15 But when you talk about those guys, particularly that very first visit,
01:20 that you realize that they said it themselves that they committed to the people.
01:26 They committed to what we wanted to offer them as coaches and as mentors.
01:33 And we tried to do everything we possibly could to create an environment that they
01:37 realized, just like my own children realized,
01:40 that the rules don't change just because we moved houses.
01:43 And the same rules apply, the same culture in our home applies,
01:47 the same curfew applies.
01:48 All those things apply whether we live in a house in Tucson or
01:51 we live in a house in Seattle.
01:53 Well, the same for those players.
01:54 They're choosing the people and we treat them like our sons.
01:57 They came here as our sons and
02:01 we enjoyed the opportunity to meet all these new sons that are here in Seattle.
02:05 Jonah Coleman, I believe, is probably one of the best running backs in the country,
02:08 to answer your question on the people itself.
02:10 I think he, PFF wise, was ranked top three or so in terms of yards per carry.
02:18 He's, I think it's 6.6 or something to that effect.
02:21 He made a huge impact in our program.
02:24 He's an unbelievable pass catcher.
02:27 He understands protections.
02:29 He loves to get on football and he can run the ball at the highest level.
02:32 Fish's price sock came over as a corner.
02:37 I think that if you look at the way he played all year long,
02:42 he started every single game, played every single snap at corner.
02:45 He broke his finger or hand in the ball game, got it wrapped,
02:50 got it splinted, came in one play later, dislocated again,
02:54 got it clubbed and played the rest of the game.
02:57 He's tough, he's physical, he's six foot three, he's an NFL corner.
03:00 Our goal is to get him to meet his dreams.
03:03 The Jordan Shaw transferred to us from Indiana, then to Arizona.
03:08 Now here, never really transferred in December, so it's not like he played there.
03:13 But he came to us as a nickel corner.
03:16 He's only one year into college football, so
03:20 it's a great opportunity to have him grow and develop as a corner.
03:23 The other guys, I can't, DeMond Williams, I think we all know about DeMond.
03:28 DeMond has an unbelievable skill set as a thrower and a runner.
03:35 He reminds me of the elite quarterbacks that are the true definition of a dual
03:39 threat in regards to his ability to take off and scramble and run.
03:43 He's not someone that I would design a lot of run game for,
03:46 because he's such a pure passer, that we hope to see him sit in the pocket and go.
03:51 And then some of the other guys that came on board that I think we can talk about
03:56 from my notes says Adam Muhammad.
03:59 Adam Muhammad was a running back that committed to us that very first weekend.
04:02 Just a 200 pound, just finished seniors high school, is an absolute beast and
04:09 is gonna run the ball at an extremely high level.
04:13 Offensive lineman, Justin Hilkema, Moose, will be here in June.
04:18 He's 6'8", 315 pounds.
04:23 Raheem Wright, a nickel, from the same high school as Patrick Chung,
04:28 one of the best nickels or safeties that played for the Patriots ever.
04:32 And an opportunity to have Raheem.
04:34 And then Brian Parham and Bryce Butler,
04:38 one's a linebacker from San Jose State who was one of the top linebackers in
04:41 the Mountain West, and Bryce is a defensive lineman we need.
