00:00 >> I'm good, good.
00:01 >> [LAUGH] >> Seth Sam early with
00:04 Hornets.com.
00:05 I'll lead off with the obvious question that everyone's wondering,
00:08 what does this feel like for you to come back home and play for
00:11 the team you grew up watching?
00:12 >> It feels good.
00:13 It's exciting.
00:14 I mean, I was growing up, I always wanted to put that jersey on.
00:18 Wearing 30, so it's kind of like a bull sucker moment being back.
00:22 Obviously, it's a little shake up middle of the season, get traded, and
00:25 move to a different team and try to adjust.
00:26 But I want to go anywhere and be here, so I'm excited to be here.
00:30 Go on the floor, get around these guys, and try to make an impact.
00:34 >> Like Seth's Charlotte's 45, did you have to ask his permission to wear 30?
00:39 >> I did not even, they didn't ask me what number I wore.
00:42 They didn't give me a call.
00:43 They just, for whatever reason, they assumed I wanted that 30.
00:46 And they were not wrong, so it's exciting to put it on.
00:51 >> Seth, did you think at any point in your career you would be coming back to
00:55 play for Charlotte?
00:56 Anything that helped you work?
00:58 >> You always think about it.
00:59 Whenever you change teams or have an opportunity to go somewhere,
01:03 always, like I said, think about playing in Charlotte, playing in front of family,
01:07 your friends, putting that jersey on.
01:10 So, obviously, you're not sure what happened or not, but I always hoped it would.
01:17 And like I said, I'm excited.
01:18 No matter the circumstances of the season, I'm excited to be here and
01:22 put on that jersey.
01:23 >> Seth, Hunter Bennett with the Charlotte Post, where were you when you heard the news?
01:28 >> We were on a road trip.
01:29 We were actually in New York for a few days.
01:30 So I was in New York when I heard.
01:33 I kinda had an idea for a couple days that it was a possibility, but
01:38 you never know if it's gonna go through or not.
01:39 So I actually had a game, I did a prayer for a game, and
01:44 the news went through, and I'm here.
01:47 >> Is there any memory that you look back on and think about with fondness about
01:51 being the son of the Hornet and being a fan?
01:54 >> Yes, a lot of memories.
01:57 I mean, I grew up here from the time I was born to going off to college.
02:03 So I've seen everything from the OG Hornets, the Coliseum,
02:07 to the Bobcats coming into town, to the Hornets coming back.
02:10 So I kinda know the whole history.
02:12 And no matter where I've been from afar, I've always rooted for
02:14 the Hornets when they've had a team here.
02:17 And I just got so many memories from, like I said, from my dad playing to
02:23 those big shots you see walking around the locker room and the arena.
02:26 You see all those pictures that are all highlights of those old teams.
02:30 I kinda remember most of them.
02:33 Some of them I was too young, but I kinda remember most of them.
02:36 It's just fun to see.
02:37 >> So the Skyline Cowans, Sports Illustrated, what were your thoughts on
02:40 watching Lamelo from afar, and how excited are you to get to play with him?
02:44 >> He's exciting, man.
02:45 He's exciting, he's talented as anybody in the league.
02:49 You can tell when he's out there, you can have him playing.
02:51 And that's the main thing you look for in a young guy,
02:53 is do they like to play the game?
02:55 And he's one of those guys that enjoy playing the game.
02:57 He's obviously a big guard who can score, but
03:01 obviously, at least the teammates involved pass.
03:04 And he's one of the guys that puts on a show for the fans.
03:07 So I think everybody's here, lucky to have him here.
03:10 And just try to do my part and just get to know him a little bit, talk to him,
03:14 try to pick his brain, and just help him any way I can.
03:18 >> Seth, what are you fan side?
03:22 Being back here in Charlotte, obviously not just where you grew up, but
03:25 also North Carolina where you played ball at Duke for three years.
03:28 Have you had a chance to reconnect with anybody from Duke yet?
03:31 >> I'm always in contact with a couple people from Duke.
03:34 I won't say I haven't really changed much being here.
03:40 Duke people right now, they're kinda in the end of season.
03:42 The guys that are there and other people around.
03:45 But I'm always in contact with my Duke people.
03:47 >> Seth, a lot of people, when they come back, I ask them,
03:50 what's something they miss about Charlotte?
03:51 And they all say Bojangles.
03:53 What's something you miss about just being here and the city itself?
03:58 >> That's definitely one of them.
04:00 Bojangles, Show Mars, those type of restaurants.
04:04 >> [LAUGH] >> I kinda grew up on it.
04:06 It's kinda nostalgic.
04:07 Trying to get tired of eating too much of it in season, but
04:10 gotta get a taste of it, but I think everything, just riding around the streets,
04:14 from time getting off the airplane and going to the hotel,
04:19 coming to the arena, just kinda have some nostalgic memories, some flashbacks.
04:23 And this is good to be back.
04:24 >> Thanks, everyone.
