00:00 After being nominated for the Ladies European Tour, Samantha Bruce joined the Magical Kenya Ladies Open 2024 this weekend.

00:10 The Filipino golfer Samantha Bruce started making a lot of noise during her first Ladies European Tour last weekend.

00:19 Bruce was the first to enter the Let's Circuit of the Kenya Ladies Open where she immediately showed her skills.

00:26 In the third round, Bruce was able to score 4 under par, which is enough for a score of 215 and she was able to get the 3rd place.

00:33 But the 20-year-old golfer was postponed in the last round and ended up in 19th place with a total score of 292.

00:41 Even though this is not what was expected, Bruce is still very grateful for the opportunity to play in a prestigious golf circuit.

00:48 The past three days, all I've been thinking about is how grateful I am to be out here.

00:52 Especially with my current status on the LEP, I didn't really know when my first event would be or when my next event would be.

01:00 So I just really wanted to stay grateful in the moment and just make the most out of it.

01:06 Bruce also admitted that she's nervous every time she enters a tournament.

01:11 But according to her, she uses this to improve her focus.

01:16 I think nerves really come when you're expecting things and when you try to control things that you can't control.

01:23 So, for example, you want to shoot a certain score or you want other people to shoot a certain score.

01:30 Technically, you can't really control how you, the exact scores you get.

01:34 All you can really control is your process.

01:36 And I think just focusing on your process helps me at least calm my nerves a little bit more.

01:44 But definitely there were some nerves from the beginning of the tournament up until now.

01:50 Bruce is the third Filipino to be named in the LEP, followed by the others, Mary Espuesta and Mia Pisho.
