FDA, other agencies to form task force vs fake product ads

00:00 Basically, the approval of the FDA,

00:03 that is the only thing that is safe, efficient, and quality.

00:08 So for example, if a product has been approved for a certain indication,

00:13 that is the only thing that can guarantee that it has passed the FDA's process,

00:18 particularly in drugs.

00:20 Now regarding the fake advertisement, we have been coordinating

00:23 with the National Bureau of Investigation,

00:26 and some celebrities, I don't want to mention them,

00:29 but we have been coordinating them since last year.

00:32 So the problem here is with the online,

00:35 I'll repeat, since the last interview,

00:38 when they post, they can always take down the post.

00:44 So if we seize the product, if we give a subpoena,

00:48 or give a summon to those fake advertisers,

00:53 we need a certain location,

00:55 we need to serve the notice to them.

00:57 And the problem with that is that most of them don't have an office,

01:01 because they are fake.

01:03 So we are having a hard time,

01:05 that's why we have been asking the National Bureau of Investigation

01:08 to locate those people.

01:09 But we said that it's more dangerous in the fish market.

01:13 If they see that they are being interrogated or investigated,

01:17 they just take down the post,

01:18 then they will move and they create another account.

01:21 So yeah, we're finding it very difficult.

01:24 But for this year, we will have a task force,

01:27 a conglomerate of different enforcement agencies.

01:30 Last year, I launched Oplan Cataros,

01:33 that's for the counterfeit medicine.

01:35 So this one, I think it's a very problematic fake advertisement.

01:42 So I will launch a task force together with the NBI,

01:47 the PNPC-IDG, the NICA, and the patent office, the IPO,

01:53 so that we will have a one unitary enforcement agency.
