All civil servants will be assessed using the Demerit Performance Evaluation (DEEP) system starting this year, says Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

The Chief Secretary to the Government told reporters after presenting the message for the year 2024 on Tuesday (Feb 13) that the aim in introducing DEEP is to ensure that the government makes an assessment based on the capability and determination of the officer to implement the given task.

Earlier, in his message, Mohd Zuki emphasised that the DEEP system was not meant to punish any party but to ensure the evaluation system remains relevant, and called on all civil servants to give their undivided support to the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

02:36 to assess our value on our labor force,
02:39 the seriousness of our values,
02:42 and take the right responsibility to give it.
02:44 Such examples include,
02:45 to evaluate our services in the comparably available level,
02:51 or as the introduction says,
02:53 also in terms of achievement,
02:55 we evaluate the way in which we give points.
02:56 So what we do,
02:58 We start with 100%,
03:00 Khath-UKP, fill in the full marks,
03:02 than we demerit it.
03:04 If we don't achieve KPI,
03:06 or the task that we failed to accomplish,
03:09 we will cut the marks.
03:11 And this time, JPA supports,
03:14 and will implement,
03:15 we will do it in a...
03:16 I think we will do it in a straight line.
03:18 And not only at the level of KSUKP,
03:20 I ask the heads of the departments,
03:21 and the supervisors to do the same.
03:23 This is to ensure that the assessment that is made,
03:26 is really objective,
03:29 and fair, as well as progressive.
03:31 Thank you.
