A woman who has had cancer five times is celebrating with tough exercise challenges after being told she is free of the disease.Natalie Yates-Bolton, a grandmother of two, has suffered two bouts of Hodgkin’s lymphoma and has also had breast cancer on three occasions.In total, the 57-year-old has endured 11 operations, 30 sessions of chemotherapy and 55 rounds of radiotherapy.Now, the senior lecturer in nursing at the University of Salford has been told she is cancer-free after spending the last six years on a type of targeted cancer drug called palbociclib (Ibrance).Doctors at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester are thrilled with her progress on the drug, with all scans showing the cancer has gone.Mrs Yates-Bolton, who has always been determined to live life to the full, is now setting herself new exercise challenges.SOURCE: PA

00:51 and graduate with my friends, then that's okay.
00:55 Which kind of took me by surprise
00:56 that that would be how I, you know,
00:58 I hadn't anticipated getting a diagnosis
01:00 and then it took me by surprise that I just thought
01:03 I just need a year to fulfill my goal.
01:06 And then each time I get a diagnosis,
01:08 I just think, well, what's my short to medium term goal
01:12 that I'm aiming for and just go for that.
01:14 So whether that's like seeing my youngest daughter
01:19 pass the GCSEs, like thinking of when she was nine
01:23 and I got a diagnosis, I thought,
01:24 well, if I can just see her through
01:27 till she gets the GCSEs, that'll be good.
01:29 And then I got another diagnosis.
01:30 I thought, well, I'm just see her through to her A levels.
01:32 And then if I can just see her through to getting a degree,
01:35 and then if I can just see her through to getting married
01:38 and then just see her through to having a baby.
01:41 And so each time I don't look too far into the future.
01:45 I just look to what's my immediate goal
01:48 or the goal I have in my role in somebody else's life.
01:51 So don't worry too much about the long future,
01:56 just what's really important to me at the moment.
