00:00 Our colleague Liam Willerup wrote this story yesterday
00:04 from this 24/7 Sports, way too early top 25.
00:09 And I was like, I was shocked when I, and let me admit,
00:12 'cause you guys know I'm an old school Miami fan.
00:15 I'm one of those people who rightfully thinks
00:17 the media is usually against us
00:19 and everyone wants to see Miami fail and Miami's hated.
00:23 So sometimes when I see stuff like this
00:25 with Miami actually getting hyped,
00:27 I wonder if they're just trying to set Miami up
00:29 for embarrassment, like I always feel that way.
00:31 So I'm looking at this way too early top 25
00:34 from 24/7 Sports.
00:36 They've got, not surprisingly, Georgia number one,
00:39 Ohio State two, Texas three, Oregon four,
00:42 Ole Miss five, Alabama six, Michigan seven,
00:46 Mizzou eight, Notre Dame nine, Penn State 10,
00:50 Tennessee 11, they got Miami at number 12.
00:53 They got Miami at number 12 in the way too early top 25,
00:56 which has them highest in the ACC,
00:59 'cause Clemson then comes in at 15th.
01:01 Florida State doesn't come in till 18th,
01:03 Louisville at 20th, North Carolina State at 21st.
01:06 So, I mean, how much do I read into this, Brian?
01:09 24/7 Sports thinks Miami is a top 12 team
01:12 and they think they're ACC champions apparently.
01:15 - Well, you and I talked about this a week or two ago.
01:18 I predicted Miami, I think they're gonna win 10 games.
01:22 Their win total projection is nine and a half.
01:24 - Nine and a half.
01:26 - Do you know which school is also
01:27 at nine and a half this year, Alex?
01:29 It's a program you might've heard of.
01:30 It's a program you might've, it's Alabama.
01:33 - They're nine and a half?
01:35 - Miami and Alabama, both at nine and a half.
01:38 When was the last time we saw the same win total projection
01:42 for the Tide and the Canes?
01:45 It's gotta be before Saban.
01:47 - Maybe before, maybe like Saban's first year
01:50 when he took over.
01:51 - 2007, they weren't very good.
01:52 They weren't very good.
01:53 - Yeah, it might've been that year.
01:54 - That, no.
01:55 (laughing)
01:56 - I don't think so.
01:57 The schedule for Miami is part of that.
02:01 And they went out and got another quarterback.
02:03 I mean, if you get a quarterback,
02:04 you look at the teams that went out,
02:06 like Notre Dame went and got a quarterback,
02:07 Miami went and got a quarterback, et cetera.
02:09 Those teams moved up, and then it's the,
02:12 Georgia's quarterback is returning.
02:14 You know, that's not hard.
02:15 Ohio State went and got a quarterback.
02:17 I think this list is actually fairly accurate.
02:21 The one school on the list that I'm not sold on
02:23 is the whole Michigan thing.
02:24 They lost their entire defensive staff by that.
02:27 - Yes.
02:28 - And I hope Schrammler's successful,
02:30 but he's in a really rough,
02:32 how do you lose your entire defensive staff?
02:35 And J.J. McCarthy turned pro, a quarterback.
02:37 Those are not good combinations.
02:39 So I need to see something there,
02:40 but I think Miami, conservatively, is top 15.
02:44 That's just my opinion. - Wow.
