00:00 >> The fact that it was a struggle getting that cohesion,
00:02 you had to get replacement defensive ends.
00:05 You had safeties coming in and out without half of the nickelback role,
00:08 obviously, too.
00:10 I guess it's fortifying that defense before you come back for
00:13 offseason program, kind of a main priority.
00:16 >> Yeah, I mean, I think a lot of the pieces have and we're there and
00:22 you're always dealing with injuries.
00:24 And I think the thing that I have an immense amount of pride,
00:29 you look at this defense, Eric Armstead, I think you guys learned today that he
00:33 battled through a torn meniscus, made a decision to play because he knew
00:37 the opportunity, Javon Hargrave had a similar decision with a torn thumb ligament.
00:42 And decided we had too rare of an opportunity and once our guys would allow
00:47 him and our medical experts and oftentimes second opinions would allow these guys to
00:52 play and those things happen and that's the thing that people don't see at home.
00:56 The sacrifice people are making, I was really proud of our defense,
00:59 the way they competed in this last game.
01:01 I think that looked like I envisioned it looking, we're getting after them.
01:06 And our guys, Logan Ryan, Kyle jokes, but it's true.
01:10 We started talking to him, he was on a Disney cruise with his family,
01:14 said give me ten days and he played an integral part in us getting to that final
01:18 game and so there's so many of those guys.
01:20 I think we have a really good nucleus that we can and will keep together.
01:26 And yeah, of course, we're always, old coach that Kyle worked for,
01:31 that I played for, John Gruden, used to say all the time,
01:33 you never stay the same, you either get better, you get worse.
01:35 And so we're into getting better and we'll make every effort to do that.
01:39 And we got a lot of really good players that we've acquired in a variety of ways.
01:46 And the more good players you get, the tougher decisions you have.
01:49 It's tough to take care of everyone, but I know a lot of players wanna be here.
01:54 I've already had those conversations with people and
01:58 there's a way to get it done and we're gonna have to, it's nice that we're
02:02 expecting 10, 11 draft choices with comp picks and such.
02:05 And so we're gonna be healthy there and you gotta have those guys contribute when
02:09 you've got as many high priced players as we have.
02:12 And we're looking forward to that opportunity to get into that process after
02:16 these guys, he needs a break.
02:19 My job's just getting going and I'm already just talking about it,
02:22 getting excited, but it's, yeah, this is devastating.
02:25 There's no way around that.
