00:00 Let's go ahead and begin Donnie with the biggest upset of the night.
00:06 North Carolina losing to Syracuse in, I mean, look, let's be honest, a real barn burner.
00:12 86-79.
00:14 What did you make of this one?
00:15 Why was North Carolina not able to get it done?
00:19 By the way, Davis, this was a big upset, but on the rundown here for this segment, you
00:23 wait till the final game we get to, and I'm going to talk about a real upset.
00:27 But nonetheless, this was an upset the ACC, no doubt about it.
00:30 We broke this game down yesterday, Davis, and I said to myself, you know what, that's
00:33 a lot of points, 7.5 to 8.5 on the road, but Carolina's a much better basketball team.
00:38 Maybe pass on that and take a look at some tempo for the over, which is what we did.
00:42 But shockingly, I didn't think North Carolina was going to lose this basketball game.
00:45 Final score 86-79, but we get into the crux of what actually happened last night.
00:50 You take a look at Syracuse.
00:51 The one thing that we do know in college basketball, and pretty much in any sport, most teams do
00:55 play better at home, particularly in basketball from a college environment.
00:59 You usually shoot better from the floor at home.
01:01 How about the Syracuse Orange?
01:03 63% as a team from the floor.
01:06 Pair that up from three-point range, 47%.
01:09 They shoot 72% from the line here, which is OK, 18 of 25.
01:13 But my goodness, if you shoot 62.5% as a team on a night-to-night basis, you're going to
01:18 win a lot of basketball games.
01:20 But if you flip it over and take a look at North Carolina on the road, it's not bad to
01:23 go in that dome environment and shoot 48% as a team.
01:27 They also shot Davis almost 45% from three-point range, and that wasn't like, hey, four of
01:32 ten.
01:33 They made 12 three-point shots to Tar Heels here and made 82% of their free throws.
01:37 But Syracuse was just a better team all the way through.
01:40 Now as we take a look at the ACC now, the Carolina Tar Heels, who were running away
01:44 with it, now sit at 11-3.
01:46 That's a big resume builder, as we like to say, for the Syracuse Orange, now sitting
01:50 at 7-7.
01:51 But an ACC play, as we talked about the Carolina Tar Heels getting that great head start, look
01:56 at the top three teams now in the ACC.
01:58 The Tar Heels, 11-3.
02:00 The Duke Blue Devils, 10-3 right on their heels.
02:03 And yesterday, Virginia was upset.
02:05 Had they not been upset, they'd have three losses as well, which they have four now.
02:08 So it looks like we're separating ourselves from the top of the pack.
02:11 That's a terrible loss for North Carolina that could have kept that stranglehold on
02:15 the ACC.
02:16 Now Cumming Davis, a little bit back to the pack.
