00:00 I am the head of Sincerely Queer, which is a gay youth group here in town that I started with the help of the council.
00:07 What does an event like this mean to you, to the queer community?
00:12 A couple of years ago I could have never dreamed that I would have been a part of something like this.
00:16 It's such an inspiring thing. I'm just so happy to be a part of it and it means so much to me and all the queer people in the community.
00:24 It's just going to be such, because it's going to be so open and out there and it's just going to say to the community,
00:31 we know you're here, we know you're queer and we're excited to invite you in. And that's just so inspiring.
00:38 Someone earlier on said you can't be what you can't see. Is it important that the Orange community sees a diversity of lifestyles, Yara?
00:45 Yes, it is so important that Orange sees diversity around them and that people know that there's support groups
00:52 and medical help and all that stuff here that is safe for LGBTQIA people and youth that is here in town.
01:00 So they don't have to go to Sydney to just get the care they need.
01:04 What's the best part of the festival you're looking forward to?
01:08 I've got to say the drag trivia, but I'm also really looking forward to having a stall there on behalf of Sincerely Queer.
01:17 It's going to be so much fun talking to the community and answering questions, which I'm always open to.
