00:00 The commitment gives cold sweat to the organizers of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris,
00:04 July 26 to September 8.
00:06 The good hold of the swimming trials in the Seine depends on the quality of her hockey,
00:09 if she has progressed, was still not satisfactory in the summer of 2023.
00:14 The analyses carried out from 2015 to 2023, transmitted to AFP by the Paris City Hall,
00:19 show strong variations last summer,
00:22 with several peaks of concentration of one of the two bacteria indicating fecal contamination,
00:26 Echerichia coli.
00:28 In view of the European Swimming Directive of 2006,
00:32 none of the 14 points of the Parisian swimming trials in the water reached a level of quality sufficient in 2023,
00:37 globally from June to September.
00:38 The concentration in Echerichia coli exceeds the maximum required,
00:42 900 units forming 100 ml colonies, on all points.
00:46 And that in Enterococcus, the other bacteria taken into account by the regulation,
00:50 slightly exceeds the threshold required at the Ivry Bridge, southeast,
00:54 and at the Garigliano Bridge, southwest 330 UFC at 100 ml.
00:58 In the summer of 2022, however,
01:00 these analyses had reached a level sufficient for the two bacteria in three measuring points in the center of Paris,
01:05 before a degradation in 2023.
01:07 Paul Kenouche, the head of the Grand Cycle and Quality of Water of the City of Paris,
01:12 however, underlines that of the eight major points retained by the municipality,
01:16 six have seen their quality improve and two are stable.
01:19 But none reached the level expected by the European Directive.
01:22 If they recognize that the results were not up to expectations,
01:27 the institutions in charge of this sensitive file remain confident for the IOC.
01:30 "Nightmare" in August.
01:32 They highlight the five final works that must increase the storage capacity of the sewage network
01:38 and thus limit the rejection of wastewater into the river.
01:41 Before their implementation,
01:43 the general rehearsals, test events in Olympic language,
01:47 from which 2023 turned into nightmares for the organizers.
