00:07 When K. Kitu started as a security guard at SK Bandar Baru Pucat in Ipoh, Perak six years ago
00:19 blending in wasn't easy
00:21 He looked different and many students were wary of him
00:25 Some even steered clear of him

00:34 I looked like a black person
00:37 It was difficult to follow him
00:40 But K. Kitu made it his mission to connect with the students he was there to protect

00:56 I would stop and run

01:01 Slowly but surely, his friendly nature won them over

01:10 When K. Kitu decided to move half an hour away to Klemang Pucat last year
01:14 the kids threw him a farewell party where they cried and hugged him goodbye

01:36 Luck struck when the school's parent-teacher association
01:39 offered to extend his contract a month after he left
01:43 K. Kitu gladly accepted the offer
01:45 even though it would now take him 30 minutes to get to the school
01:49 He was so close to the school
01:52 I never wanted to leave this place
01:55 I was like a child, I didn't like it here
01:58 I didn't want to break my promise to them
02:01 K. Kitu is not only loved by the students
02:04 but also their parents
02:06 We were all very sad when he left
