00:00 >> You know, I was really happy with the,
00:05 you know, how our defense, how we started.
00:10 Multiple efforts, players helping players, a lot more talk.
00:16 We were physical on rebounding.
00:18 It was our third straight game where we, you know, did a good job on the boards and
00:23 that was been a big emphasis.
00:25 I mean, you know, first you got to get them to miss to do a good job on the boards.
00:30 And we were able to do that.
00:32 And also, you know, we made seven threes.
00:37 You know, that, you know, gives you a little bit of separation.
00:40 The combination got in transition and then we made some threes.
00:46 And Oregon State, a lot of their defense this year has been a lot of the two-three.
00:49 And so, you know, getting that lead allowed, you know, forced them to kind of get out of
00:54 that and that gave us a little bit of momentum and good.
00:57 It was good for us.
00:58 >> Is there any carryover that you can take from that performance?
01:03 >> I think so.
01:04 You know, we just kept talking to the team.
01:08 You know, a couple of the results we didn't get, but we played good enough to win, hard
01:12 enough to win.
01:13 And there's growth from rebounding to, you know, our efforts, our second efforts.
01:19 I mean, we were blocking shots in transition.
01:22 Our press got us back in the game.
01:23 There was, you know, all those things.
01:26 Now it just goes back to, you know, how do we execute better?
01:29 But for the most part, sometimes with young student athletes, they don't see themselves
01:35 getting better because they saw the final results of the score.
01:38 As coaching staff, we felt like we were improving, improving.
01:41 It's just a matter of time to where that starts to stick and you start seeing, you know, more
01:47 points than the opponent.
01:49 And so, you know, you can always tell the character of a team by, you know, how you
01:54 respond after a tough couple games.
01:57 We had two tough ones in a row that we just fell a little bit short and they responded
02:01 really well.
02:02 That's the best sign possible.
