00:00 Hi, my name's Sam, a reporter from Sussex World and today's top story is Friday, January
00:06 16th. Rail cancellations and severe delays are affecting communities today after a person
00:11 was sadly hit by a train this morning. Services were unable to run through the Three Bridges
00:15 Gatwick Airport area in either direction this morning while emergency services worked. While
00:20 lines have now reopened, Southern Rail has confirmed that trains may continue to be cancelled,
00:24 severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until midday. A new
00:31 discount shop opened in Horsham Town Centre this week. Poundstretch opened this week in
00:35 the former Argos building near Horsham bus station and offers a wide range of goods including
00:39 house-side products, groceries, confectionery, kitchen appliances, furniture, gardening tools,
00:45 electrical goods, health and beauty products, bedding and clothes. And finally, an iconic
00:51 seafront restaurant in Hastings has permanently closed. The local Calver family took over
00:55 the former Italian Way site in Castle Street with a restaurant initially named Rocksall.
00:59 However, the family was then sued by a business with the same name in Folkestone. Following
01:04 this, Sam Calver said they were unable to acquire the lease that they paid for and were
01:07 not busy enough to sustain the operating costs. He said, "One blow after another in such a
01:12 short space of time gave us little hope."
