00:00 Let's talk about some Oregon recruiting news.
00:03 How about it?
00:04 You know, that's what I like to do on this channel.
00:07 Going to be breaking down
00:09 a new Oregon football recruiting prediction.
00:12 That's right, on Wednesday,
00:14 24/7 Sports National Recruiting Analyst, Tom Loy,
00:18 logged a crystal ball prediction in favor of Oregon
00:22 for 2025 Pittsburgh, California safety, Jaden Hudson.
00:27 He is the first analyst I believe to log that pick,
00:31 but Jaden Hudson's been a name that's been on my radar,
00:34 especially being the California guy for a while now.
00:37 So I'm gonna break down my thoughts on this pick
00:40 and tell you where I think things stand
00:42 with Oregon and Jaden Hudson.
00:45 Again, coming out of Pittsburgh, California.
00:47 If you're here on YouTube,
00:50 actually this isn't gonna be a podcast,
00:51 so of course you're here on YouTube.
00:53 I'm throwing some film from Jaden Hudson's junior season
00:57 on the screen right now,
00:58 so you can get a feel for the guy that we're talking about.
01:01 Another player highlight, player specific video,
01:05 as Hudson picks off a pass and takes it to the crib
01:08 for six points for the Pirates.
01:11 Little rundown on Jaden Hudson.
01:13 He is listed on the 24/7 Sports,
01:16 on his 24/7 Sports profile at 6'2", 175 pounds.
01:21 He is a safety in the 2025 class,
01:23 rated as a four-star recruit
01:26 on the 24/7 Sports composite 0.9555.
01:31 The same system ranks him the number 96 player
01:33 in the country, the number eight safety,
01:35 and the number 10 recruit.
01:38 In the state of California, obviously a talent-rich state,
01:42 and Dan Laney and the Ducks have absolutely set up shop
01:45 in the Golden State.
01:47 Hudson has 29 reported scholarship offers.
01:51 Oregon is obviously one of those big schools
01:53 in the mix for him, but other schools of note
01:56 include Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, and Ohio State.
02:01 So just to give you a little bit of my thoughts
02:05 on Jaden Hudson watching his film,
02:08 I did a little bit of film study
02:09 before I hit record on today's video.
02:12 I think it's pretty obvious to see his ball skills
02:15 that he possesses as a defensive back.
02:17 I think that's obviously something that you want
02:20 in any kind of a safety or defensive back,
02:22 really someone who can not only get their head around
02:25 to look at the ball and ultimately make a play on the ball,
02:29 whether that's a PBU or as it is the case with Hudson,
02:33 many times an interception.
02:36 So I think those are some of the positives
02:38 that you have with Jaden Hudson.
02:40 Another one that comes to mind is his football IQ
02:43 and just feel for the game.
02:45 The guy is in the right place a majority of the time,
02:48 a whole heck of a lot.
02:51 And then just to look at the other side of the coin,
02:54 not necessarily a negative,
02:56 but I think this is a guy that's probably more so fast
02:59 than he is quick.
03:01 I don't think his quickness necessarily pops off the tape
03:05 when I look at his game,
03:06 but certainly a guy that can cover a lot of ground.
03:09 I know some of his highlights
03:11 also include some chase down tackles,
03:13 or like we just saw there,
03:14 him changing direction to cover a lot of space,
03:18 a lot of ground in the back end of the secondary.
03:22 So I think that's good.
03:24 You don't see a ton of necessarily one-on-one coverages
03:28 from the very beginning of the play,
03:30 which makes sense because he is a safety, right?
03:34 So he's not in as close of proximity
03:36 as some of these corners are.
03:38 But I think that like you see here
03:40 with the chase down tackle,
03:41 that's obviously something that you want in a safety,
03:43 someone who's gonna be able to serve
03:45 as your last line of defense.
03:47 But Hudson's had a pretty productive career
03:51 at the high school level through three years
03:53 playing for one of the premier programs
03:55 in the Bay Area at Pittsburgh.
03:58 I think one of the most recent guys
03:59 that you're looking at out of Pittsburgh
04:01 is 2023 Pittsburgh quarterback, Jaden Rashada,
04:04 who spent the 2023 season at Arizona State.
