00:00 Good afternoon to all of you. Good afternoon, Eusec Edu.
00:04 Good afternoon, partner Nina.
00:06 Before we continue with the news and discussions, of course, we would like to ask for an update from you at DSWD.
00:13 Yes, partner. We at DSWD are still continuing the relief and disaster response operations here in Mindanao,
00:21 particularly to those who have been affected by the continuous rain and floods here in Caragas, Davao region,
00:28 and even in Sok Sarjian. The continuous flooding here in these areas has had a huge effect.
00:35 So far, we have reported that we still have 34 evacuation centers up to now,
00:41 and more or less 4,000 individuals are still staying there until this time.
00:47 When it comes to providing relief, DSWD has distributed more than P537 million in humanitarian relief for our affected countrymen.
01:01 We have reported that we have more than 760,000 families affected in these regions,
01:08 and we have given them assistance, but we are still continuing.
01:12 So far, we have distributed P393 million in food packs to the affected families,
01:19 and we have also distributed P141 million in cash assistance or aid for those who have been affected in Davao region, Caragas, and Sok Sarjian.
01:32 And this is still continuing because we still have many countrymen who are still suffering from the effects of this heavy flooding in this region.
01:41 So there are still many who cannot go home, but more have returned?
01:47 Yes, that's right, partner. Since the end of January, the number of people in our evacuation centers has increased.
01:56 And like what we have mentioned, local officials are slowly returning to normal life of our countrymen in affected areas.
02:04 However, they really need help from the government to get back on their feet. And here is DSWD, who is fulfilling our duty.
02:13 Alright, thank you very much for your updates. Yusef Edum from DSWD.
