Trajen Odom a Big Name to Know for Oregon in 2025 Recruiting Class

North Carolina defensive lineman Trajen Odom is a big name to know among Oregon's 2025 recruiting targets.

00:16 Trajan Odom is a big time defensive line target for the Ducks here in the 2025 class out of

00:24 the state of North Carolina.

00:26 And I'm going to talk to you about why that's important in this video.

00:31 Trajan Odom recently landed an offer from the Ducks.

00:33 He got his first offer from he got an offer from the Ducks, I should say, just last month

00:39 in January.

00:40 And he got two visits from the Oregon coaching staff.

00:44 He had Dan Lanyon out there, you had defensive coordinator Tosh Lapoi out there, Tony Tuyoti,

00:49 the defensive line coach, co defensive coordinator and safeties coach, Chris Hampton, our defensive

00:56 backs coach, excuse me, no longer the safeties coach exclusively.

01:00 But Chris Hampton was out there as well.

01:03 In North Carolina, he goes to Weddington High School in Matthews, North Carolina.

01:08 He was recently at Cary, North Carolina, Panther Creek High School.

01:13 But this is a guy that Oregon is really prioritizing here in the 2025 class, not necessarily the

01:19 highest rated recruit, but he hasn't even played his senior season yet.

01:23 So I wouldn't be surprised if this stock rises.

01:26 According to the 247 Sports Composite, he is the number 381 player nationally, the number

01:31 37 defensive lineman and the number nine recruit in the state of North Carolina.

01:37 He is rated a three star 0.8880.

01:41 But man, this guy plays a big brand of football 32 reported scholarship offers listed at six

01:47 foot five 265 pounds.

01:51 Going to get into my latest quotes and analysis from his visit and analyze things on the recruiting

01:57 trail with Odom.

01:59 But the main reason that he is going to be such a big priority for the Ducks here in

02:04 the 2025 cycle, just look at what the Ducks did the past two cycles along the D line.

02:09 2023, you bring in guys like Matteo, young Lele, Blake purchase, Terrence Green, Jaden

02:16 Moore, Ashton Porter.

02:17 There are just so many big time guys and Tatum to Yodi as well in that 23 class.

02:35 We know that Dan Lanning and the Ducks like to prioritize the defensive line and you need

02:40 big bodies at the line of scrimmage if you're going to win big time football games.

02:46 And the big change here, one of the big changes I should say in the 2025 recruiting class

02:51 is that the defensive line talent is not to the same caliber that it was out West in 2024.

02:58 So the 2025 year for D line is kind of a down year on the West Coast.
