00:00 Detroit Lions star wide receiver Aminrah St. Brown is in line for a big payday.
00:05 But the big question is, is he worth $25 million?
00:08 Here today to analyze that topic is SIL Lions senior writer Vito Chirco.
00:13 Vito, give me your take plain and simple.
00:15 Is Aminrah St. Brown a $25 million a season guy?
00:20 A lot of coin to give out to one wideout.
00:22 One player on your 53-man active roster, no doubt about that Cam, but is he worth it?
00:27 Simply yes.
00:28 He has earned it.
00:29 You look at a guy, AJ Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, who's making $25 million a year right
00:34 now.
00:35 So you compare St. Brown, his stats, his production, his caliber of talent to AJ Brown's, and you
00:41 say to yourself, you know what?
00:43 I think St. Brown is a bit better and is deserving that $25 million a year.
00:47 That's a lot of money once again, but deserving when you compare those two dudes specifically,
00:51 Cam.
00:52 And then you look at the top earners at wide receiver, the likes of Cooper Cup, Devontae
00:57 Adams and Tyree Kill, who's at the tops, you know, at the very top of the list when it
01:02 comes to earnings for NFL wideouts on an annual basis, making $30 million a year, by the way,
01:07 for the Miami Dolphins.
01:08 A lot of money to spend on Tyree Kill, but he's deserving of that.
01:13 You know, you can make the argument easily, I think, Cam, that he is the best wideout
01:16 in all of the National Football League, or at least is in that top three to top five
01:20 wideout range in all of the National Football League.
01:23 And St. Brown, once again, when you compare him to the likes of A.J.
01:27 Brown, Cooper Cup, Devontae Adams and Tyree Kill, he's very comparable.
01:31 Maybe Hill is a shade or two better, right?
01:33 Maybe Adams, you know, he's got the tenure, the longevity, the track record, all of that
01:37 more than Amonroth, St. Brown, obviously, too, Cam.
01:40 But overall wise, once again, when you compare the statistics of these guys that I just named
01:45 off, St. Brown is basically right there in the upper echelon of the wideouts in today's
01:50 game.
01:51 So, to me, St. Brown is deserving of 25 mil a year.
01:56 And I think as part of this contract extension coming up, which you know is inevitable, it's
02:00 going to happen relatively soon here, Cam, because the Lions, they have to do it.
02:04 Because St. Brown has earned it once again.
02:06 And once again, I think they're going to have to fork over about that amount of money in
02:11 the range of 25 mil a year.
02:14 Vito, if the Detroit Lions expect to continue being competitive, they'll need to lock St.
02:19 Brown up.
02:20 for all the time.
