00:00 Give me three reasons the Niners will make it back to the Super Bowl next year next season.
00:05 I think well, let's just go off of what we were just talking about, which is a new defensive
00:13 coordinator. Now, I think a lot of it is overblown as far as how bad Wilkes was.
00:19 We can talk about yards. We can talk about run game. We can all those things. But the reality was
00:24 the 49ers defense was the number three scoring defense in the NFL. That's pretty good.
00:29 Last time I checked, I know it's not the one. How dare you? So pretty good.
00:36 But the defense and these players didn't buy into it for whatever reason. And I think that much was
00:43 very clear. So whoever they bring in, I'm going to assume that they buy in more than they did
00:48 with Wilkes. And it's just going to be a better marriage. So that is reason number one. I would
00:53 say reason number two would be improvement on the offensive line. Let's hope that the 49ers
00:59 draft some offensive linemen, preferably with their first pick in this draft.
01:04 Maybe they sign one in free agency and they have a better offensive line. We know the team's super
01:10 talented. I don't think that they're going to lose a lot of talent over the offseason. I know
01:14 people are talking about trading bread and I you they have the money to keep you and bring some
01:18 guys in. So I think the team talent wise can be just as good as it was last year with a better
01:23 offensive line. And I would say the third reason is young players get better. You know, Jair Brown,
01:31 Brock Purdy, Iuke as great as he was, he can improve, I believe. So, you know, you see these
01:37 young players. I think we talked about offensive line, but some of these younger guys on the
01:43 offensive line can get better as well. So, yeah, I think those would be the three reasons to be
01:48 optimistic. The 49ers can win a Super Bowl next year or be back in the Super Bowl.
01:52 Yeah, I wouldn't go that far. They still got Kyle Sane in as their coach, but he's
01:55 proven he can get there. And this is the optimistics part of the no, no, yeah,
02:02 I don't know if you were sure. I want to I want to focus a little more on Brock Purdy.
02:08 Yeah, I have a lot more respect for him that I did at this time last year. What he did this
02:13 last season was really, really impressive coming off that injury. And it's like you stack him up
02:19 against all the quarterbacks in the NFC. How many are better than him really right now? One.
02:26 And that one is about 36 years old. Matt Stafford. Yeah. So that's a good spot to be in. You got
02:36 one of the best quarterbacks in your conference. Now, Jordan Love is improving. There's other good
02:40 quarterbacks, but your guy is as good or better than probably every quarterback in your conference,
02:46 except for the one guy who won a Super Bowl. That's a really good spot to be in. And you
02:51 haven't been able to say that in a very long time. Now, there are like six elite quarterbacks in AFC
02:58 and we're going to probably have to face one of them eventually if he gets to the Super Bowl.
03:00 And that's a different story. But at least getting there, NFC is still just not a really
03:04 a quarterback driven conference right now. It's a bunch of teams with quarterbacks on rookie deals
03:08 and Dak. Yeah, yeah. Give him more money. I think he needs more money.
03:16 Yeah. I might give him 70. I Dallas 35. Yeah. Well, it's stopping. He's too good. You can't
03:24 know what they should do, though, is they should get rid of Dak and just let
03:28 Trey Lance play. See what happens. Yeah, yeah. That'd be fun. Just yeah. Get rid of Jack. I mean,
03:35 I'm sure you can rate him. Yeah. You're not going to win a Super Bowl attack. You're not
03:41 trying to the Raiders. They love washed up overrated quarterbacks.
03:44 It's true. You know, I'm saying they like Jimmy G. Yeah.
03:49 That's not bad. He's just not 60 million good. Nope. You know, that's the whole point. If Dak was
03:58 bottom 10 in the league as far as pay. Sure, you can win with that. But once you start paying guys
04:04 that aren't elite, you're just not going to win a Super Bowl. There was no salary cap. Who would
04:08 you rather have, Brock, pretty or Dak? Oh. It's actually a really tough question. It is probably
04:21 lean. I lean slightly back, but I don't trust him either, man. I don't trust. Yeah, that's the
04:28 other thing about him. OK, OK. Can I can I say this? I don't know what it is. He makes a beautiful
04:34 during the regular during the regular season at home for 17 games in a regular season. Give me
04:39 but if I need a fourth quarter in the playoffs, give me Brock. So I guess probably isn't it fair
04:46 to like once you have enough playoff games to sort of base your opinion about a player on those games
04:52 like Dak has decidedly not good in the playoffs. Who gives a damn what he does in the regular
04:58 season? Also, Lamar Jackson started to flirt with that. He said, what sticks playoff games and one
05:02 good start. I think when you get to about six, seven, eight playoff starts, that's sort of your
05:07 reputation. Like Eli's reputation is his playoff resume, not really what he did in the regular
05:11 season. He might make a make a Hall of Fame based off of that. I don't crazy. Yeah, I don't think
05:19 he's all of him caliber personally, but he'll probably make it because he's got Manning in
05:23 his last name and he did well in the play. Well, that's not where I look at it. Caliber
05:27 is an interesting choice of words. I just think it's a Hall of Fame resume, quarterback to Super
05:33 Bowls. That's it. You did your job twice. Did it twice. Yeah. Once could be a fluke. Once you could
05:39 be trend over, but twice. I mean, you did it. You did it. I don't know what else against Tom Brady
05:45 of all people. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, twice. Eli, he just blacked out like crazy.
05:54 I don't want to say what happened. Eli, you just won the Super Bowl. What? Where am I?
05:57 We're talking blackout drunk.
06:00 Won the Super Bowl. Wow. And you're looking for my coma. What I mean,
06:06 you won the Super Bowl twice. That's what you miss while you're in that coma.
06:09 Are we missing anything? I mean, the team is loaded.
06:14 They have a first round pick for the first time in a long time. They actually might nail that.
06:22 They could improve their offensive line if they wanted to. They have cap space.
06:25 They don't have Adam Peters. Young players.
06:28 Christian McCaffrey still in his twenties. He could have a better year next year. I don't know.
06:37 Brandon, are you still improving? Seriously? Also, the 49ers can, they have money to go sign
06:45 somebody. They're not like up against the cap the way a lot of people try to paint the picture of
06:50 the 49ers. They can go make a move in free agency. If so, they can improve their alignment.
06:56 It will be, it'll be there. Yeah. If it's a DN, that's fine. That's cool.
07:01 So it's not a DT, but here's the thing I don't like about the Niners with the detail D line.
07:07 They get all these D linemen and they're all pass rushers. None of them are really good against the
07:12 run except for Armstead. And then when they get to the final game, all they do is complain about
07:17 not getting holding penalties. Like man, if you can't beat them, join them.
07:20 If they're not going to call holding penalties and stop investing in D linemen,
07:25 sorry, get off. It's alignment and say, hold and false start. Cause they don't call that penalty
07:32 either for offensive tackles. Do they not really? I mean, you can actually bear hug as a tackle now
07:38 in the super bowl. That happened multiple times.
