Thousands of people have flocked to Exhibition Park of Mitchell, for day two of the Royal Canberra Show. In keeping with tradition, rides, show-bags and sideshow alley proved popular. But plenty of show-goers had everything from giant vegetables to formidable felines atop their to-do lists.

00:52 Cat owners were tasked with scrutinising a field of almost thirty cats, representing
00:56 dozens of breeds.
00:58 Here everybody talks to you, it's a real happy, happy group, I love it.

01:11 Elsewhere at Exhibition Park, hard work paid off for this young green thumb, earning first
01:16 prize for his beetroot after a spontaneous seedling purchase a few months ago.

01:26 Show organisers working hard to ensure visitors enjoyed attractions of all shapes and sizes

01:37 And more freebies to help ease cost of living pressures.
01:41 We've worked even harder this year to try and create itineraries for families where
01:46 kids can engage in and participate in activities that are free.
