00:05 >> You've had a couple big outings out of the bullpen so far this season.
00:08 Talk me through what your approach is when you're coming out of the bullpen.
00:12 >> My approach is just pitch with confidence, stay intentional and
00:15 just really throw every pitch like they're not gonna hit it.
00:18 And that's gonna give me my best result is just the confidence and
00:21 not getting nervous no matter who you're out there throwing to.
00:24 >> Looked like you had a lot of energy coming off the mound after a few of
00:27 those strikeouts to end innings.
00:28 Do you like kind of getting hyped up and
00:31 that shows my passion in getting the team on board?
00:34 >> Yeah, it's fun.
00:34 It's my first year coming out of the bullpen, so
00:36 you can come out there with a little bit more energy.
00:38 The game's already been moving and if the team's fueling me with energy,
00:42 I try to recycle it back to them if I'm out there giving it back, so.
00:46 >> Is that something Coach Howard kind of drills in you to bring that passion,
00:50 that fire?
00:51 >> How he definitely fires you up, obviously, he played with a lot of passion.
00:55 He's just one of those guys that's out there bringing the energy every single
00:58 day and maybe you're in a low one day or a little bit down, he's gonna come up
01:02 there, he's gonna pick you up and his energy is definitely contagious.
01:05 So love having Howie.
01:06 >> Seems like I've seen a few times now Peyton Chatagnier and
01:11 then Anthony Silva, you make a big out or something like that,
01:14 they'll kind of fire you up in the middle of the field.
01:17 How does it feel to just have those two behind you?
01:19 >> I mean, having those guys out there, it's a great feeling cuz those are guys
01:23 that are gonna make plays super consistent.
01:26 And I mean, honestly, I don't know of a better duo that's out there in
01:29 college baseball.
01:29 So it gives you a lot of confidence and
01:32 they're just two of my teammates that I absolutely love.
01:34 So it's just fun being out there playing with them.
01:36 >> You've got a pretty good mix of pitches.
01:38 Is there one that you like to lean on when you know you need to get a strikeout?
01:41 >> I mean, it depends on lefty or righty, but I do love my change up.
01:44 It's kinda the pitch I go to, or
01:48 I feel like I have the most confidence throwing that.
01:51 >> How much has Coach Lon helped you in your development in his short time here?
01:56 >> Yeah, I mean, I love Coach Lon.
01:58 Coach Lon does a great job in just filling me with confidence.
02:02 Props to him, he really believes in me through any ups and
02:05 downs I've been having.
02:07 He just goes there and keeps filling me with confidence.
02:09 And what I love about Coach Lon is he has a great balance of
02:12 letting you do what you think you need to work on, but also chiming in when necessary.
02:16 And so he kinda lets you be your own player, but is there whenever you need help.
02:19 >> I noticed he's the guy that comes out and
02:21 talks to you on the mound other than most.
02:23 So what's he saying to you in situations like that?
02:26 >> He's just getting my mind off the situation, trying to get me to
02:31 kinda just step back a little bit and kinda get perspective again.
02:35 I mean, it's not anything too much in particular, but
02:38 more to just reset me and get me focused on the batter again.
02:42 >> Come out and tell your dad joke or something?
02:43 >> Yeah, something like that, yeah.
02:45 So he told me tonight that he had to take off his glasses cuz his daughter tells him
02:49 he looks like an 80-year-old old man with his glasses on, so.
02:52 >> [LAUGH] >> Same to work.
02:54 >> Yeah.
02:55 >> Yeah.
02:55 >> Thank you.
