00:00 Surprise everybody and welcome to a new episode of Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel where you guessed it, this conversation will be one big giant surprise which means it's going to be an unexpected conversation as always which makes me very excited especially since we don't have any clues to show today.
00:23 and we will just show our surprise guest so without further ado, I will go straight to it and say hello to our surprise guest.
00:33 Hi! Are you here surprise guest?
00:36 Hi Miss Pia, good afternoon. How are you?
00:40 Good afternoon. Surprise guest, are you from Cebu? Is that right? Have we met before?
00:47 Ah, now?
00:48 Just now?
00:49 Almost. We've just met. We're close.
00:53 Why just met? Can I see you on camera surprise guest so we can face reveal?
01:00 Hi!
01:01 There you are, Beauty Gonzales! Hi Beauty, how are you?
01:08 I'm okay. I'm a bit tired from work but I'm happy because work is a blessing and I'm happy to be here. Thank you for having me and helping me promote my film and other shows. Thank you Miss Pia.
01:22 Oh, thank you for joining us Beauty. I won't be talking to you, I promise.
01:27 I'm not used to hearing you. You're from Cebuano, right?
01:31 Yes, I'm from Cebuano. I went to Visayas earlier.
01:34 I'm not used to hearing you from Cebuano.
01:36 Sometimes, in my show with Senator Bong, "Rebellion", there's no hard police in the silent masses. I'm in Cebuano when there's a riot.
01:45 Just when there's a riot?
01:47 Yes, when there's a riot. And sometimes, when there's a lament.
01:50 I'm happy because I'm allowed to do production and also Senator Bong, I could speak my own dialect.
02:00 Because it's a very successful film, "Way Back" with Miss Lani. I cannot compare myself to Miss Lani because she did a good job.
02:10 They allowed me to do my own flavor by adding my dialect and accent.
02:16 Of course, I'm proud because there are a lot of Visayas in the Philippines.
02:19 I'm curious, are you like that in real life? Visayas just come out when you're angry?
02:25 Yes, yes, yes. That's normal.
02:28 I do know that you have a movie coming up after all.
02:33 I'm really thankful with GMA for this because it all started with my first show and loving Miss Bridget.
02:39 The moment I got into GMA, that was my first show.
02:43 It's fun because I got new fans, millennials.
02:47 I got to explore myself in different genres.
02:53 And then I got a follow-up with this film after all, which I'm very excited for everyone to watch.
02:59 It's nice because our fans have gifts for themselves.
03:04 This is a movie about reincarnation, right?
03:07 Reincarnation. It's like your past love went to a different form, to a different person.
03:16 So you're going to think, is this the person that you love from your past or is this the person that you're loving as him or who he is?
03:24 I know that there are very intimate scenes in this film.
03:27 Kelvin, were you comfortable already doing the scenes because you've worked together before?
03:33 It's much easier now because we're more familiar with each other.
03:39 But the first time when we did it together, when I do a love scene with any partner, not only with Kelvin,
03:48 I always talk to my partner, we always plan how we execute the scene and also with the director.
03:56 It really helps that you talk it before you do it, right?
04:00 And I really admire him. He's a very gentle man.
04:05 He listens to me, especially the first love scene because it was his first time.
04:10 So I was like, "Oh, this is your first time. Okay."
04:14 Oh, it was his first time. Okay.
04:17 And after all, it's easier for us, of course, with the guidance of our director.
04:24 And you know, it really helps a lot when you trust them.
04:27 But in "Walang Matigas na Pulis", you're siblings, right?
04:31 Yeah. Oh my God, stop looking at me with those eyes. I'm your sister here.
04:39 Sometimes, when we're blocking, our director, Edzo Williams,
04:48 sometimes he just lets us know where we're going to stand.
04:52 Because in "Walang Matigas na Pulis", we really became a family.
04:56 We already know our character. So he just let us be.
05:00 So the two of us, we have this thing that we won't just sit next to each other.
05:04 But you know, we're not that attached with loving Miss Bridget.
05:10 So it's funny because sometimes, his eyes, I don't know if you have a concern for me as an older sister or loving Miss Bridget.
05:19 I bet that means you're really versatile as artists.
05:24 That you can play these different roles.
05:27 Yeah, which is really nice because as an artist, you don't want to be just a tweeter or an appealer.
05:35 You do the same thing all the time because you'll get burned out.
05:40 So I'm very thankful with GMA for continuously giving me this project
05:45 where I can explore all kinds of things.
05:51 From being with a young man, to suspense thriller with Ding Dong,
05:57 to dramatic, very drama show with Ariel and Sid.
06:03 And after that, I had this monopoly with Miss Aiko.
06:07 And then, a very traditional legacy.
06:11 Now with comedy action with Senator Fong.
06:14 It's really different. Action is like dancing.
06:21 I'm so bad at dancing.
06:23 I remember, I saw that interview where you said that on set with Senator Bong, you hit his eye.
06:30 Oh my God.
06:32 Tell us about that.
06:34 No matter what you practice, what you take care of, it's an accident. It really happens.
06:41 It's a good thing I don't have long nails because if not, it would be red.
06:45 Did you get stabbed?
06:47 Yeah.
06:48 He said he had a lens on his eye. I don't know what it was.
06:51 That's what I got stabbed with.
06:54 He went to the hospital.
06:56 I was really nervous.
06:58 I was sweating until my armpits.
07:02 I don't want to hurt anyone.
07:05 You know that. You don't want to hurt anyone.
07:07 The whole production, the taping was stopped.
07:10 I got scared because he might get stabbed.
07:14 It's a big deal.
07:18 He came back.
07:20 I admire his attitude because he came back to taping after his working ethics.
07:28 Even if something happened to him, even if the doctor told him to rest, he still came back.
07:34 He still finished taping. He calmed me down because I was crying. I was scared.
07:39 It wasn't a joke.
07:42 I really admire what he did. He came back and made everybody calm.
07:48 Our work continues.
07:50 It's a good thing that Center Bong is okay and you're shooting again.
07:54 He said he won't forget it.
07:57 So, it's an experience.
08:01 Who's your partner in the movie?
08:03 TJS. He's playing my son.
08:06 He has a good layer.
08:10 He's hiding that he's gay.
08:13 He has a dramatic layer that's nice for everyone to see.
08:19 And of course, Bonceron is part of the film.
08:23 Tart Carlos and many more.
08:26 It's directed by Adels who was also our director of "Loving Miss Bridget".
08:30 I remember when the first "Stolen Life" plugs came out, we were like, "Whoa!"
08:35 It was so intense. I got goosebumps when I saw it.
08:39 It's like Carlos was looking at the mirror and you were the one who was looking at him.
08:44 With that smile, it was really sinister. Yikes!
08:48 I'm really thankful because the reception was great.
08:55 The reception of the people who accepted our show was great.
09:00 At first, I was nervous because it's an astral projection.
09:03 They might not be able to understand it.
09:06 Or at the beginning, you might not be able to understand the whole story.
09:10 But finally, as it gets longer, more people are watching.
09:14 Our ratings are increasing. More people are noticing.
09:18 It's hard. It was a hard thing to do.
09:21 Because you're not only doing one, but you're doing two persons.
09:25 It's like four persons in one day.
09:27 Yes. Don't you forget who you're working with?
09:33 I think of the person as an individual.
09:36 I don't think of them as two people.
09:39 It really helps that you change the lipstick.
09:41 It helps the way you dress up.
09:44 With the help of our director and also Carlos,
09:47 it's also nice to have someone with you who's good at acting.
09:53 Because when you act, you also react to your co-actors.
09:57 So it was a nice experience.
10:00 The show really worked.
10:02 But it was hard.
10:03 I'm thankful that the productions are there.
10:06 That they have a long patience.
10:08 Because it really gets into you.
10:14 When I do acting, I'm like a bird.
10:19 Everything else disappears.
10:22 But when I do action, it's like it's done.
10:27 But was acting something you had always wanted to do when you were young?
10:32 No, never in my life.
10:34 Never. It never crossed my mind.
10:39 I don't watch TV.
10:43 So how did you get in?
10:45 My mom gave me this.
10:46 I think this is the greatest gift my mom gave me.
10:50 Not only that she gave me birth in this world,
10:53 and all the things she gave me,
10:56 but also the acting she gave me.
10:59 I'm really thankful that I ended up doing this.
11:02 Because a lot of people at my age,
11:04 or a lot of people even older than me,
11:07 doesn't really know what they want in life.
11:09 And I ended up doing this, and she gave it to me candidly.
11:13 So I feel so lucky and blessed.
11:16 I'm thankful for my mom that she forced me and forced me to join the lottery.
11:23 I don't want to do the lottery.
11:25 I don't want to do the lottery.
11:27 Wait, you're not the one who's doing the lottery.
11:29 There's someone else doing the lottery for you.
11:30 Yaya.
11:31 Yeah, yeah.
11:32 I thought the more you say, the more people don't want to do it.
11:36 The more people want to do it.
11:38 My mom wants to join the lottery.
11:40 My mom wants to be an artist.
11:42 Get her.
11:43 I'm so sad for my mom.
11:45 When you were young, what did you dream of for yourself?
11:49 Did you have a career in mind?
11:51 I always wanted to have my own cemetery.
11:54 Cemetery?
11:55 Yeah.
11:56 You wanted to own a cemetery?
11:57 Yes, I wanted to own my own cemetery.
11:59 That was my dream when I was young.
12:02 I can't imagine.
12:03 That's not a regular thing for a young girl to want in life, right?
12:09 How did you think of that?
12:10 Where did that idea come from?
12:12 My mom and my parents, we have a farm.
12:15 We have a lottery behind that.
12:17 Behind that is a public cemetery.
12:19 I wanted to have my own cemetery, design my own thing.
12:23 I designed my own private cemetery, designed my own coffin.
12:27 I just find it so…
12:28 How?
12:29 Everybody says that death is scary or beautiful.
12:34 But when you die, you get to think about your life, right?
12:38 You get to think about the things you did in your life and how beautiful life was.
12:43 Why is it so beautiful?
12:44 For me, it's just normal.
12:47 And you can't get away with it.
12:48 I mean, there are two things in life you can't get away with.
12:50 Toxic and death.
12:52 I love all your philosophies in life, beauty.
12:57 It's so interesting.
12:59 And I can't imagine a young beauty Gonzales in Dumaguete dreaming of owning a cemetery.
13:05 You know, some people think, "Oh, you think about death."
13:08 But when you think about death, you think about your life.
13:13 How did you live your life?
13:15 Is this something you still want to do?
13:16 Have your own cemetery? Own your own cemetery?
13:19 I can't find the land I want.
13:22 Maybe you can find someone else.
13:25 I don't know.
13:26 It's hard to be a boss when she's the boss.
13:28 So I let her be.
13:29 I'm happy doing what I'm doing now.
13:32 What keeps her alive is the business there.
13:35 So I just let her do her thing.
13:37 Because it's hard to know if we'll still fight.
13:40 So you just focus on your acting.
13:42 Yeah, I just focus on what is mine and what is real.
13:46 She's the one who's the head there.
13:48 She's the one who's the head there.
13:49 Also, after you joined the reality show, and then you realized that you wanted to be an actress,
13:54 did you do workshops or did it just come naturally?
13:57 After the reality show, my mom got me a house here.
14:00 So I couldn't really escape.
14:02 And then I enjoyed my life in Manila because there was no ban, no quarantine.
14:11 My mom was just like, "You gotta get pregnant, get out of my house, pack your stuff, and you know what to do."
14:18 So I was like, "Why would I want to get pregnant? I want to enjoy."
14:21 So acting wasn't really serious.
14:24 I didn't take acting seriously before because I was like a missing dog.
14:30 So I just want to enjoy life, party, travel, all those things.
14:36 Because I'm from the province and everything's so new and beautiful in Manila.
14:41 So I really enjoyed it.
14:43 And I just took acting seriously when I met Norman, and when I got married, and after I got pregnant.
14:50 And I felt like, "I miss this, acting is so fun."
14:54 I enjoyed what I'm doing.
14:56 When I got pregnant, I was like, "Oh, I'm pregnant."
14:59 I worked until seven months.
15:01 Wow, until seven months!
15:03 It's easy to hide because I was playing a simple life.
15:08 A housewife, always in a duster, always at home.
15:13 So it's easy to hide.
15:15 I was so happy and I got the chance to reflect and think about things.
15:20 I'm so lucky doing this, making people happy.
15:24 And I do love my job.
15:26 And I'm so lucky that I was given this without even thinking about it.
15:31 I'm actually good with it.
15:34 So I should focus and make the most of it.
15:38 And I realized that I want to show my daughter that I'm a boss lady.
15:42 I take care of myself, I work.
15:44 And I want her to have that thing also.
15:47 To do the same.
15:49 Yeah, can be a boss lady.
15:51 But you can't follow the rules, you can do your own thing.
15:54 At this point in your career, Beauty, is there any other role that you still want to do that you haven't done yet?
16:01 I really want to do more art films.
16:04 That's what I want.
16:06 I want to do a biography on the life of Bill Los Santos.
16:11 I'm very fat. I'm looking for angles of Bill.
16:15 Actually, I can see. Now that you mentioned it, you have angles.
16:21 Yeah, I want to do that.
16:25 A lot of more art films.
16:27 And more teleserye.
16:29 And yeah, I enjoy watching sitcoms.
16:33 It's easy and light. It's fun.
16:36 It balances everything out.
16:38 Yeah, it balances everything out.
16:40 Actually, I'm really enjoying it.
16:42 I hope I can do more. I'm praying for it.
16:44 While I can still do it.
16:46 I want to do it while I still look good.
16:51 While I can still do a lot of roles.
16:54 Actually, at this age, I have more freedom.
16:57 It's more fun like this.
16:59 I'm getting older.
17:00 So I pray that I could have more interesting roles.
17:05 Because when you're young, you're really boxed to this type of acting.
17:10 But as you get older, it's like wine.
17:14 You have more choices.
17:16 You have more flavors to add to yourself.
17:19 So I'm praying for more.
17:21 We really look forward to that.
17:24 Judging from all the work that you have done in the past,
17:27 we know that you're a very versatile actress.
17:29 So you can do it.
17:30 It's just a balance.
17:32 Yeah, it's just a balance.
17:34 Did you grow up in Cebu?
17:35 I grew up in Dumaguete.
17:37 Oh, Dumaguete.
17:38 I'm with my husband here at home.
17:40 They're all Bisaya.
17:41 My husband is Tagalog.
17:43 He's the only alien here.
17:45 So until now, he still doesn't know how to speak Bisaya.
17:48 He's learning.
17:49 I can't sell him anymore.
17:50 I used to sell him.
17:52 But not anymore.
17:53 So he can say it when everyone in the house is talking about Bisaya.
17:58 He already knows that.
17:59 He already knows that.
18:00 He already knows that when I get angry and say something, he'll say it.
18:05 He knows all the key words.
18:07 Yes.
18:08 He also knows that when I'm being nice and I'm being needy,
18:12 he'll suddenly say Bisaya.
18:14 But until now, he still hasn't learned it.
18:17 He's still learning.
18:18 Maybe when we stay in Cebu, he'll learn and learn.
18:22 He has no choice.
18:24 Yes.
18:25 You know, I remember when GMA Gala was held.
18:27 Maybe it wasn't last year.
18:30 It was 2 years ago.
18:31 Your husband was there.
18:33 I saw you from afar.
18:34 You two look so sweet.
18:35 How many years have you been married?
18:37 Oh, my God, Miss Pia.
18:38 I don't count.
18:39 Oh, my gosh.
18:40 I remember the day I met him.
18:43 But I don't know how long we've been together.
18:46 If I'm not mistaken, it's less than 15 years.
18:49 Maybe 13 or 12.
18:51 Oh, that's a long time.
18:53 I'm not sure.
18:54 7.
18:55 I've been married for 7 years and we've been together for 13 or 14 years.
19:00 I don't count.
19:01 I only know the 4th.
19:03 That's the day I met him.
19:05 The day you met him.
19:06 I don't know when I answered him.
19:07 I said, "On the day I met you, that's the time we're together."
19:11 Wow.
19:12 Wow.
19:13 Because the day you met him, you already had an inkling that this is it.
19:17 This is it for keeps.
19:18 Yes.
19:19 For me, I don't really know if he asked me if we're already together.
19:27 Because if he asked me, I would laugh.
19:30 We're always together.
19:34 I'm not dating anyone.
19:36 He's the only one I replied to.
19:38 He already asked me.
19:40 I said, "On the day I met you, I think that's our anniversary."
19:44 I want it that way.
19:46 Oh, how sweet.
19:48 Wait.
19:49 If you remember so vividly September 4, why is your memory vivid that day?
19:55 How did you meet?
19:57 [music]
20:01 Interesting topics and insightful conversations with one of the country's veteran and most award-winning journalists, Howie Severino.

20:17 and has consistently been one of the top Philippine podcasts since its launch.
20:23 The Howie Severino Podcast new episodes streams every Thursday on major streaming platforms.
20:31 If you remember so vividly September 4, why is your memory vivid that day?
20:40 How did you meet?
20:41 How did we meet?
20:43 He saw me in a magazine and he found me through his friends.
20:48 And then we have a common friend, Ellen.
20:53 That's the time he got my number.
20:55 I can't forget September 4 because I'm a big fan of Eraserheads.
20:59 He did a shoot with Esquire.
21:01 They had a cover with Esquire before on Eraserhead.
21:05 They had a party in Ducitani.
21:08 That was the first time I met him.
21:10 They were playing music.
21:12 Their first music was...
21:14 No, not first.
21:15 Their second music was magazine.
21:17 I can't forget that because I'm a big fan of Eraserheads.
21:20 At first, I didn't want to steal when they were singing.
21:25 I was like, "Oh my God, I'm so happy I'll be here. Thank you for having me."
21:29 What a wonder you can't forget.
21:33 It's just because I'm a fan of...
21:35 For me, they're like the Beatles of the Philippines.
21:38 I'm a 90s baby so I know all of their songs.
21:43 It was such a treat to see them live and to meet them in person and get to talk to them.
21:51 It was just magical.
21:54 I couldn't forget that moment.
21:56 I can imagine you were a super fan girl that night.
22:00 Did you notice your husband?
22:03 You talked to each other.
22:04 I noticed him.
22:06 Of course, we were just so lucky they got to play four songs.
22:12 After that party, I don't know what came up to me.
22:18 I had a feeling that I wanted to make things right.
22:22 I was wearing a Cinderella outfit.
22:24 I said, "I'm going to go home now."
22:27 He said, "But why? You're already old."
22:31 The party started at 12.
22:34 Deep inside, I really wanted to stay.
22:37 I wanted to make things right so that if this guy would look for me, he would be patient to talk to me again.
22:44 This is like being tested.
22:46 I wanted to do things right.
22:48 I didn't want to get wasted or get drunk or get too tipsy.
22:53 You know that feeling when you're young.
22:55 I felt like there's something special about this.
23:01 I wanted to make things right.
23:03 So I left, but deep inside, I still wanted to stay.
23:07 I told him, "I hope he calls me."
23:09 How long did it take for him to call you again?
23:12 He called me when I got home.
23:15 That was fast.
23:17 Yes, but I didn't answer.
23:19 I told him, "I need you to take care of me for a while."
23:23 The next day, he found out.
23:26 We met.
23:27 We had coffee.
23:29 We were inseparable after that.
23:31 He went to Europe for a couple of weeks.
23:36 I followed him there.
23:38 We weren't apart anymore.
23:40 Our first date was so bonga.
23:45 It was so sweet.
23:47 It was in Paris.
23:48 That was our date.
23:49 Wow, it was bonga.
23:51 It's so funny that you think that I only do this in films.
23:57 I only do this kind of scenario in life.
24:00 You get to watch a concert with your favorite band.
24:03 You get to meet the love of your life.
24:05 Suddenly, you have your first date in Paris.
24:08 It's like a film that I'm doing.
24:11 I feel so lucky.
24:13 Yes, it was so romantic.
24:16 Was it cold during that time?
24:18 Was it summer?
24:20 It was like it was getting cold.
24:23 It was kind of rainy.
24:24 So, it was sweet.
24:25 I like it when it rains in Paris.
24:27 For me, it's nice when it's raining in Paris.
24:29 It has this different ambience during when it rains.
24:33 So, it was sweet.
24:34 Because it was cold.
24:36 Hug, hug. Walk.
24:38 Oh, hug, hug.
24:39 Walk, walk. Hug, hug.
24:41 We got to singing on the rain.
24:43 That's so sweet.
24:45 That was really nice.
24:47 Sharks, so you knew right away that it was him already.
24:53 So, there were no more pretensions that there's no turning back.
24:56 Because if you know, you know.
24:58 Yeah, there's no turning back.
25:00 Because you know it.
25:02 If he loves you and this is who I am, this is me.
25:05 There's no more.
25:06 It's really a direction.
25:08 There's really no more.
25:10 My panty flew off the Eiffel Tower.
25:12 I couldn't hold it anymore.
25:16 There's no turning back.
25:17 There's no turning back.
25:18 And, that's it.
25:19 That's it.
25:20 We're inseparable.
25:22 I remember my mom visited us in our apartment in Malatins.
25:27 Like, you know, my daughter has a problem.
25:29 You're going to have a heartache.
25:31 You're going to have a hard time.
25:34 And then, I was sleeping.
25:36 I didn't want to wake up because I knew my mother and I would fight.
25:39 So, Norman was the only one who faced my mom.
25:43 And I admire what he answered to my mom.
25:47 He said, "Yeah, I know. But I'm not a problem.
25:50 I'm part of the solution. And I'll be there."
25:53 Oh, shucks.
25:54 That answer is so in love.
25:57 So, for example, you didn't hear it.
25:59 Yes. Of course, I was sleeping.
26:01 Because I didn't want my mother to beat me up.
26:04 I was dreaming that I was really sleeping.
26:12 Because I didn't want to wake up and be like, "Boom!"
26:15 But does it help, Beauty, that he's somewhat in the industry, right?
26:21 But he's not on cam, like you.
26:24 It helps a lot that he's into art also.
26:28 He's very artistically open to me doing these things.
26:34 I mean, he's also into painting and all antiques, which we both love.
26:40 And he's very supportive of me doing what I love, doing films and acting.
26:46 I love it because he helps me be better in what I'm doing.
26:54 That's how it should be in a relationship, right?
26:56 You want your partner to do their best.
26:58 You want them to look good. You want them to prosper.
27:02 Was he the kind of guy that you had imagined you would end up with?
27:07 Because when we were kids, we had ideas of a perfect partner.
27:12 But he changed along the way.
27:14 What was it like for you in your case?
27:16 I really prayed for someone.
27:19 I said, "I just want someone who has confidence, ambition, and a sense of humor."
27:26 You know, a kind person.
27:27 That's it. It's really simple.
27:29 I didn't expect that I would meet him or that he would come into my life.
27:33 I always believed that my friend was right when he told me that good things happen to good people.
27:39 When you do good things, good things will come to you.
27:42 And when you manifest and attract good, positive things, it will happen.
27:46 I mean, I pray. I have my own ways of praying.
27:50 My own way of praying is like, since I love antiques a lot,
27:54 and when we travel or even here around the Philippines,
27:57 if I see an interesting church and it's the first time I go inside the church,
28:02 I would knock three times and I would make a wish.
28:05 Like, "Hello, I'm here. I heard you make wishes come true."
28:10 So that's the form of praying I do.
28:13 I pray, I say thanks, and that's the thing.
28:17 I prayed for someone like Norman.
28:21 It's not as perfect as it could be, but I'm very blessed and happy to be in this relationship.
28:27 I couldn't ask for more, actually.
28:29 So I'm very supportive. I don't have to think about anything anymore.
28:32 That's okay. It's like cruising, right?
28:37 It really helps when you have a supportive partner, especially when you're in showbiz, right?
28:42 Because some of your films, they're intimate scenes.
28:45 If your husband is not an artist, it might be harder for him to understand what you're doing.
28:49 I guess. And, you know, maybe through the years,
28:53 our age gap is not that big anymore.
28:57 So he has more wisdom now, I would say.
29:01 He's now two years older, so he understands better.
29:05 You know, when I go to work, and everybody knows this,
29:08 I just do my job and I really make sure that whoever my partner is,
29:13 I make it fun because whatever you do on TV, it also reflects, right?
29:19 You can see it, you can't fake it.
29:21 And Norman really knows that it's just work and nothing else.
29:26 After the after take, bye-bye! See you!
29:30 You know, you mentioned earlier about beauty.
29:33 When you first met him, it was like you knew already, right?
29:36 So the age gap was never an issue for you.
29:39 Probably, maybe more for people around you than for you guys, right?
29:43 It was never an issue for me. It was more, I don't know, an issue for others.
29:47 I don't really read comments and I don't really give a shit about it.
29:53 But honestly, Miss Pia, I'm the old person in this relationship.
29:57 I sleep early, I don't go out.
30:01 I mean, I do go out, but I'm like, "Oh my God, Bambi, it's past my bedtime now.
30:06 I have to go home."
30:07 I don't know, it's like that.
30:09 Sometimes, I pretend to be watching TV at home with him,
30:14 I'm already asleep, and then I suddenly wake up in the middle of the night,
30:18 "Hey, that's so beautiful! Wow! Wow! Wow!"
30:20 But I'm already asleep.
30:22 So I'm the one who's the one who's the best for us.
30:24 He's more of the fun, outgoing.
30:27 So I'm lucky that he's like that.
30:30 He loves to travel a lot.
30:33 You know, it really opened my eyes, our traveling.
30:38 It's the best way to learn life.
30:40 That's really sweet.
30:42 When you travel, you also bring your daughter?
30:44 I don't have a grandmother.
30:45 Just the three of us.
30:46 Even if we die, this is true.
30:48 We haven't fought the whole time we traveled.
30:51 I traveled a little bit since she was one month old.
30:55 I brought her to Hong Kong, to this and that.
30:59 At first, I was so scared.
31:01 But then I realized that as long as the baby is with the parents, they're okay.
31:05 It's the parents who are the problem.
31:08 It's not a baby.
31:11 I had a lot of good experiences.
31:15 I love traveling with my family.
31:17 But every time I travel, I need a vacation from a vacation.
31:20 I'm happy to go home always.
31:22 I mean, there's no place like home.
31:24 Are you the type of person who, as soon as your vacation ends,
31:26 you're already thinking about your next vacation?
31:28 Because I have a tendency to be like that.
31:31 Yeah, but I always need a vacation from a vacation.
31:34 [Laughs]
31:36 How old is your daughter now?
31:37 She is 8 years old.
31:39 She just turned 2 in February.
31:41 Oh, okay. Wow.
31:43 Happy birthday to the 8-year-old.
31:46 So, she's already in school.
31:48 She's in grade 2, I guess.
31:50 [Laughs]
31:52 I'm not that, you know, like...
31:54 I know she goes to school, but I don't really pressure her in school.
31:58 I tell her, "As long as you enjoy,
32:00 just let the baby be. That's good enough for me."
32:03 Don't get into fights.
32:05 Be kind, be happy, be positive.
32:08 That's okay. [Laughs]
32:10 But your daughter doesn't complain when you're on TV.
32:15 Because, I mean, tapings have a tendency to run long, right?
32:19 Before, it's normal.
32:21 Of course, growing up, it was hard for her to understand.
32:25 Especially when she was a baby.
32:27 I remember she would cry.
32:29 I would cry on TV when she watched me.
32:32 It takes time for her to understand.
32:35 She doesn't understand our working hours.
32:39 But now, she's doing a cameo in my film,
32:44 which is coming out soon.
32:46 I'm doing a film with JM because, well, it's called "Pakil Movie."
32:50 She did a cameo role.
32:52 She did a young version of me.
32:54 I hope you do.
32:56 I asked for a production.
32:59 I asked her. She volunteered. She was excited.
33:03 I thought we were just going to walk around,
33:07 and do cute things.
33:08 Suddenly, there were 5 sequences.
33:11 Oh my God.
33:12 Then, suddenly, there's Tagalog.
33:14 I was like, "I've never spoken Tagalog so fluently."
33:17 Your Tagalog was like an American accent.
33:20 [Laughs]
33:22 There was a crying scene.
33:24 She's the one who cries?
33:26 Wow, that's intense.
33:28 On your first gig, it's already intense.
33:32 I was like, "Oh."
33:34 But she was a natural.
33:36 I was like, "I was right when I said that we were the parents who had a problem.
33:41 We were the OAs."
33:42 Because the moment she was on set, she was natural.
33:46 She handled it well.
33:49 She didn't look at the camera.
33:51 She cried.
33:52 Pockets of tears.
33:53 There was no crying.
33:55 There were 2 takes.
33:56 Wow, just 2 takes?
33:58 Yeah, I was the only OA who cried.
34:01 She was just natural.
34:04 It was fun.
34:05 I was shocked.
34:07 I was like, "Wow."
34:09 All this time, I was with her when we were taping.
34:12 If the location was close, if she could go home,
34:16 if she didn't have class, I was with her at work.
34:19 All this time, she was observing me, what I'm doing.
34:23 She's doing it on set.
34:25 She knows what I'm doing.
34:27 "Yaya, water. Yaya, script. Yaya, fun. Yaya, TV."
34:35 She copied me.
34:38 I cried. I walked.
34:40 Oh, my God.
34:43 You have a little artiste in the making.
34:47 I wasn't ready, Miss Kia.
34:49 But it was a nice experience for her.
34:53 She said, "Now I understand when you tell me that I'm going home.
34:57 I'm so stressed and tired, Olivia."
34:59 She understood my work.
35:02 But for now, I told her, "Go back to school."
35:05 [laughs]
35:06 For you, it's enough.
35:08 She can do it, but for you, it's enough.
35:11 Yeah, but it was a beautiful experience for both of us.
35:15 When she grows up, I'm so happy and thankful for the production
35:21 to even consider because she could watch the film
35:24 and see herself.
35:26 I cried when she did the film with her mom.
35:29 That's very nice.
35:31 Plus, the role is a young version of you, right?
35:34 It's a little you.
35:35 So, it makes it extra special.
35:38 From one sequence, it became five.
35:40 [laughs]
35:42 But I like that she did it like a pro anyway.
35:46 Handled it like a pro.
35:47 Yeah, the time I was observing her,
35:51 she did it very naturally.
35:55 She didn't even make me talk.
35:59 She did it naturally.
36:02 I was like, "Wow!"
36:03 [laughs]
36:05 Sometimes, there are kids on set,
36:08 "Think about what happened so you can cry."
36:11 But she really cried.
36:13 All the dramas she cried in at home,
36:17 she used it for the taping.
36:19 [laughs]
36:20 At least it became productive and fruitful.
36:23 Yeah, I told her, "All the drama and complaints,
36:27 use it for this."
36:28 [laughs]
36:30 But this movie hasn't been released yet, right?
36:33 No, I'm still filming it.
36:35 But I'm really thankful that I got to do something with my daughter.
36:41 Watch out for that.
36:42 I'm just curious, Beauty,
36:43 you have so much going on.
36:45 You're busy with work, but you still look so fresh.
36:48 Do you have a routine?
36:50 Do you do something special?
36:53 Or were you really just born that way?
36:55 No, wow!
36:56 I have my eye bags.
36:59 My gosh.
37:00 [laughs]
37:01 I need to use them every time.
37:04 But I'm so scared of doing things in my face.
37:07 Scared of doing those.
37:09 I'm just scared.
37:11 I'm not open to those things yet.
37:16 For me, the more natural and the more sincere you look,
37:21 that's what I like.
37:23 I do pilates and yoga.
37:25 I like the combination of it.
37:28 Hard and soft at the same time.
37:31 Because pilates is more of balancing and for a workout,
37:34 and good posture.
37:36 And yoga is for the mind and breathing and meditation.
37:40 I like the combo of it.
37:42 I like doing walking.
37:45 I don't want to do strenuous workouts, running.
37:49 I don't want to do that.
37:51 I don't want to look like I'm smoking.
37:54 I want to be relaxed and happy.
37:57 I don't know.
38:01 I have this fat kid problem.
38:03 I'm really fat before.
38:05 Really?
38:06 Yeah.
38:07 But I'm proud of it.
38:09 I get annoyed sometimes.
38:12 People still remember me at that stage.
38:15 "You're fat but you're so thin."
38:19 God, I'm already 32 now.
38:22 I was 16 at that time when I was fat.
38:25 That was my first exposure.
38:27 I have this fat kid problem.
38:29 From then on, I got used to eating one meal a day.
38:34 It's like fasting.
38:35 I'm already on IF.
38:36 And of course, you have to take care of yourself.
38:39 Take care of yourself meaning you have to fill up your cup.
38:42 You have to have your own me time.
38:44 You have to have your own...
38:46 And do your own what you like to do.
38:49 I always tell my husband that before we really got serious with things,
38:56 it's important for me to have my own freedom and have my own time.
39:02 So, for me, I have my own secret apartment.
39:06 Nice!
39:08 It's like a speakeasy.
39:09 You wouldn't think that I live there.
39:13 But it's like my cave place.
39:15 I just go there.
39:17 I drink wine.
39:18 I watch Netflix.
39:19 I clean.
39:20 Wait, you're the only one who can go there?
39:23 No, I mean I invite my friends.
39:25 But not your husband?
39:26 No, of course, my husband.
39:28 He goes there.
39:29 Okay.
39:30 I thought it's really a secret.
39:31 I mean it's a secret place that I don't really like.
39:35 It's like a speakeasy.
39:37 It's really noisy outside.
39:40 But when you enter, you're like, "Whoa!"
39:43 It's a nice, nicer place.
39:46 I do my meetings there.
39:48 If I have a new film, I do my meetings in my apartment rather than eating outside
39:55 because I want to feel comfortable and not uncomfortable.
39:59 And I get who I am and what I like.
40:02 I don't like having walls.
40:05 Because when you do a film, you have to trust everybody around you.
40:08 Yeah, so that's my cave.
40:10 Sometimes, I go there with my husband.
40:12 Cute!
40:13 There's no kid, no grandma.
40:15 We can make noise.
40:16 But most of the time, it's my me time.
40:21 So I go there by myself.
40:23 I clean my apartment.
40:25 I drink wine.
40:26 I watch Netflix.
40:28 And when my topak is okay, I'll have my driver follow me home.
40:34 It's really important that you fill up your cup so you can spread love and happiness to the people around you.
40:41 Because if you're negative, all your neighbors will be negative.
40:45 Oh, beauty.
40:46 Thank you so much for sharing all this with us, for being so candid, actually.
40:50 I super appreciate how candid you are in speaking with us.
40:55 I learned a lot, so good luck.
40:58 I learned a lot.
41:00 I can tell my husband that I want my own apartment.
41:04 It doesn't have to be necessarily an apartment.
41:08 One time, I did a film in Bacolod.
41:12 It's with Sid Lucero, another psycho horror film.
41:18 I'm really excited because it's shot in a film noir.
41:22 It's like black and white, the whole film.
41:25 It's coming out this year, maybe on Halloween.
41:29 That's my last news.
41:31 But that film is really heavy.
41:34 It's all out.
41:36 Sid Lucero is also an intense actor.
41:40 Carlo Ledesma is also an intense director.
41:44 After that film, I went to Bangkok by myself.
41:49 I just stayed in the hotel and didn't go out.
41:52 You have to have that time and relax and just sleep and read a book.
41:59 Weekend after, right?
42:01 Yes, to debrief.
42:03 Some people think it's weird that you're doing that.
42:08 But believe me, when you try to do it on your own, you'll be like, "Oh, that feels good."
42:13 That's so nice.
42:16 It's so interesting also.
42:18 We know that you're very busy, Beauty.
42:22 We don't want to keep you too long.
42:24 But before we let you go, we have a quick game that we prepared for you.
42:29 Because your movie is called "After All."
42:31 So the game is called "After All."
42:33 It's really just, what are the things you'll do first after all these things that we will mention in a particular situation?
42:41 Give us the first answer that comes to mind.
42:43 First question.
42:44 What is the first thing you want to drink after all the errands and work in a day that will make you feel tired?
42:49 I like beer.
42:50 A nice glass of cold beer.
42:52 Yeah, or wine.
42:53 But between beer and wine?
42:55 I just like drinking, especially when I'm eating.
42:59 Especially when I'm doing diet, I like to have a nice glass of wine and a nice meal.
43:05 Very European.
43:08 Yes, very Parisian, right?
43:10 Okay, next. What is the first thing you want to eat after all the stress?
43:15 Like if you've had a stressful day, what is the first thing you'll eat?
43:18 Sobra.
43:19 That's very fancy.
43:20 With your glass of wine.
43:22 For me, why live simple when you can have the best?
43:26 That's another great philosophy by Beauty Gonzales.
43:29 You're working hard, so why save?
43:33 And then when you get older, you'll be lazy.
43:36 If you drink a lot, you'll have to pay for maintenance.
43:40 That's a very practical philosophy, Beauty.
43:44 I get it.
43:46 Alright, next. What is the first thing you want to say to fans and supporters after all the projects you've done so far?
43:53 Thank you for loving me for who I am.
43:56 And always remember that life is beautiful.
43:59 That's nice.
44:00 And last, what is the first thing the viewers should expect after all?
44:05 That love has no age. Love is beautiful.
44:08 Love is a beautiful thing to experience.
44:11 So let's love and be kind to one another.
44:14 No holding back.
44:16 Yeah, no holding back.
44:17 I mean, when lightning strikes, you'll know it. Seize the moment.
44:23 Beauty, thank you so much for sharing all of this with us.
44:29 This is what I love about the show.
44:30 I mean, I didn't know what to expect coming into this episode but we had such a fun conversation.
44:35 I really enjoyed this and I love talking to you.
44:38 Thank you so much for having me.
44:40 To all the viewers, don't believe everything I say.
44:43 I'm already believing you.
44:46 Thank you so much.
44:50 Thanks, Beauty.
44:51 Last, why don't you invite everyone to catch your film and your shows and where can they find you on social media?
44:56 Okay, oh my gosh. Oh yeah, first and foremost, I would like to thank everyone for watching The Stolen Life.
45:03 Oh my, you'll be able to watch a lot of Farrah, Psycho Farrah.
45:08 Just fasten your seatbelt. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.
45:11 I hope you guys still support it till the last.
45:13 And thank you for all the love.
45:15 And to all the viewers who don't have a strong police force, to the silent Mises,
45:20 every Sunday at 7.15pm.
45:23 Oh my, get ready. There's a lot more to come.
45:26 There's a lot of funny scenes and you'll see a lot of surprise guests.
45:32 And I would like to thank Senator Bong for the beautiful experience.
45:36 We have a lot of billboards all over the places.
45:40 So it's fun.
45:42 And to all the people, Tolome is also shouting.
45:46 So thank you for all the love.
45:48 It's our season 2.
45:49 I never expected that we'll have a season 2.
45:52 Thank you so much.
45:53 Thank you, GMA.
45:55 You'll be watching me from Mondays to Fridays.
45:57 Except for Saturdays.
45:59 Thank you so much.
