00:43 My hope for the future is that I'm able to use the foundation that I got from Monash
00:49 University as a medical student to implement it in my practices as a doctor and as a general
00:59 practitioner so that I can give back to the society and also Monash University and make
01:06 the Star Education Fund proud.
01:09 Fellow recipient Najmi Edi Khairul, studying Law and Commerce at Management and Science
01:14 University, was initially discouraged by scholarship rejections.
01:19 I didn't expect that I would get this opportunity to win this scholarship because I've been
01:24 applied to a lot of scholarships before and many rejected me so I lost hope.
01:30 So this scholarship makes me happy and encourages me to study harder in the future.
01:38 With the scholarship, the 23-year-old said he is encouraged to strive for the best in
01:42 all aspects of his life.
01:45 My hope is I could use this bachelor's to work in my legal field, to work in legal field
01:52 so I could educate society on how law functioning in various aspects.
02:00 The Star Education Fund Scholarship Award Presentation Ceremony for 2023 was held on
02:06 Wednesday.
02:07 Star Media Group Chief Executive Officer Alex Yow said 78 scholarships worth RM5,760,000
02:15 were awarded for the 2023 cycle.
02:19 Since the inception of the Star Education Fund in 1994, this education fund has benefited
02:26 a total of 4,439 scholarship recipients with a total value of over RM164.3 million.
02:37 We always believe the power of collaboration with like-minded partners in making these
02:43 awards more meaningful.
02:45 The strong relationships we have shared with many of our partners in education have been
02:51 invaluable.
02:54 At the ceremony, Yow also officiated the soft launch of the Star Education Fund Scholarship
02:59 Awards 2024.
03:02 We are proud to announce that our strong foothold has now expanded to encompass 26 partners
03:10 in education for 2024 with a total of 192 scholarships worth RM12.4 million.
03:18 The fund, now in its 31st year, will open applications in April.
