00:00 The 2023/24 domestic football season is reaching the business end of the campaign, but once
00:08 it concludes, attention will quickly turn to Euro 2024 in Germany this summer.
00:14 Currently, two of the four home nations have qualified, with the possibility that one more
00:20 will guarantee their place via the playoffs in March.
00:24 First up is Scotland, who are appearing at their second consecutive European Championships.
00:30 The Tottenham Army will kick the tournament off when they take on hosts Germany in Munich
00:36 on the 14th of June in Group A. Steve Clarke's side then face a tie against Switzerland in
00:42 Cologne before ending their group stage against Hungary in Stuttgart.
00:49 England were placed into Group C and will be looking for a stress-free opening stage
00:54 as one of the favourites to win the tournament.
00:58 They reached the final of Euro 2020 but fell short against Italy on penalties to once again
01:04 see their hopes of glory fade away.
01:08 They begin against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen before coming up against Denmark in Frankfurt
01:14 and then Slovenia in Cologne.
01:16 Gareth Southgate is likely to depart the manager's role after the Euros and will want to end
01:22 on a high with the Three Lions, having not quite got over the line in previous tournaments.
01:29 Expectation is riding on England, but their young squad will be eager and determined to
01:34 prove that they have what it takes to end the many years of hurt since that famous day
01:40 in 1966.
01:43 Finally Wales will have to go through the playoffs if they are to make it into Group
01:47 D with the Netherlands, Austria and France.
01:52 In March they will play Finland in Cardiff and should they win will face either Poland
01:57 or Estonia for a place in the final tournament.
02:01 Should they qualify, the Dutch would be their first opponents in Hamburg before a trip to
02:06 the capital Berlin to play Austria, ending with a famous encounter against France in
02:12 Dortmund.
02:15 Northern Ireland did not qualify or reach the playoffs, meaning that they will miss
02:19 out on the Euros in the summer.
02:22 Their last appearance at an international tournament was at Euro 2016 in France, a summer
02:28 which saw all but Scotland of the home nations qualify and was made famous by Wales' dramatic
02:35 run to the semi-finals and England's historic loss against Iceland in the round of 16.
02:43 There is much to look forward to on the international scene then, as the European championships
02:48 begin to draw nearer.
02:51 England along with France will be the favourites, but can any of the other home nations spring
02:56 a surprise against their formidable opponents?
03:00 All eyes will be on Germany in the summer.
