00:04 Hold on.
00:06 All good?
00:08 Jairzinho, back for another main event.
00:11 And is this just getting kind of routine for you?
00:13 I mean, every time you fight, you're in a headliner now.
00:16 What's going on?
00:17 Nah.
00:18 I mean, I'm happy that the UFC see the main event
00:22 calibrating me.
00:23 And yeah, it's definitely a big opportunity.
00:28 I can't wait to go in there this Saturday and do my thing.
00:31 Yeah.
00:32 I wonder if that gives you some confidence.
00:33 I mean, I know you've had a couple setbacks along the way.
00:35 But to know that the UFC looks at you and they go,
00:37 that's the guy we can put in the main event
00:38 and know that we can rely on.
00:40 Does that give you some confidence
00:41 to know that they believe in you in that way,
00:43 to put you in these opportunities?
00:44 No, I definitely think they see that I'm
00:49 the guy you can put there and get the job done.
00:52 So I'm happy they recognize that.
00:53 So for me, it's now my--
00:57 the day is almost there for me to do my part.
00:59 Nice.
01:00 Eight months, I believe, since we've seen you last.
01:02 I think you were trying to fight in between there.
01:04 I guess-- what happened there?
01:06 What's this been like that you've had to sit out
01:09 and kind of wait?
01:10 It's like a mixed feeling.
01:13 I wanted some time off.
01:15 I wanted to fight earlier than this.
01:18 And then it take a little bit longer.
01:19 And then I had a fight.
01:20 And then that fight got canceled because the guy
01:22 got another opportunity.
01:24 And then this happened.
01:25 So I have peace with that.
01:28 I feel good.
01:29 I get a long time to prepare myself.
01:32 So here we are.
01:35 When you have those time away and you
01:36 have the time away from competition, how do you spend
01:38 it?
01:39 Is it relaxing?
01:40 Are you focusing on adding new skill sets?
01:43 What's been the focus during this time away?
01:45 Definitely relaxing and focusing on my skill set,
01:49 especially taking some wrestling and jiu-jitsu classes.
01:51 So it become a habit, second nature, and stuff like that.
01:56 Obviously, a seasoned striker that you are,
01:59 is it frustrating to have to go--
02:00 I got to spend all my days wrestling and grappling.
02:03 Is that annoying for you to have to do?
02:05 In the beginning, it feels like that.
02:07 But when you do it, after a while you're doing it,
02:10 you're going to start embracing it.
02:12 So I'm at that point.
02:13 Do you find joy in those training sessions?
02:15 Or do you hate them every time you go?
02:17 No, I find joy because I learn a lot of things
02:18 and a lot of tricks.
02:20 And when things work out, then you start
02:22 adding more time to it.
02:24 Maybe you start out, like we see you shoot a double leg off
02:26 the top to this--
02:27 Maybe, you never know.
02:29 All right, talk about the match-up.
02:31 Shamil, here you are.
02:32 You've been main eventing.
02:33 You've been at the top of the division.
02:34 This guy's second fight, and he's
02:36 in the main event against you.
02:37 What did you think when this was the match-up that
02:39 was given to you?
02:39 No, first of all, when the UFC selected a guy for main event,
02:44 then you know it's a big deal.
02:45 He has a perfect record.
02:48 He has given me his props, so you've got to take him serious.
02:51 12-0, it's not that he's not doing nothing.
02:54 So this weekend, he's going to get to the test.
02:58 And for me, it's like I want to win, and for him,
03:01 he want to win.
03:01 So it's going to be a big test for both of us.
03:04 I want to win, so I'll go in there
03:05 and get my hands raised after the fight.
03:06 I don't know how he's going to deal with that.
03:08 So, yeah.
03:09 He's got just one fight in the UFC,
03:11 so it's not like you probably have seen a lot of his footage.
03:14 Did you go out and seek--
03:15 are you the kind of person that you want to see old tape
03:18 and see what he's about, or do you not worry about that?
03:20 No, we always worry about that.
03:22 You study your fighter.
03:24 We are professionals, so you're definitely
03:26 going to take time to study, see what you're up against,
03:28 and that makes sense.
03:32 You might shoot a double leg.
03:33 Do you think he's going to stand with you?
03:34 Do you think he's going to be willing to stand and trade,
03:36 or do you think he's going to look in to take you down right
03:38 away?
03:38 I definitely think he's going to try to take me down,
03:40 but he also has decent hands, so I know he can strike.
03:43 So it's a chess match.
03:46 Very nice.
03:46 Last thing for me, a win here.
03:48 Like you said, you've had the time away.
03:49 You're still ranked in the division.
03:50 You've been in all these main events.
03:52 A win here, is there something that you want next?
03:54 I mean, are you looking at names or locations or dates?
03:57 Like, what do you see for yourself this year?
03:59 After this Saturday win, I'm looking for--
04:04 I'll take a couple of steps back,
04:05 because I feel like in my UFC career,
04:07 I made a couple of mistakes, a couple of missteps.
04:09 I navigated a little bit.
04:11 But we have my power, so I'm focusing on getting
04:14 all the puzzle pieces together.
04:15 I'm finding the puzzle pieces already,
04:17 so I already feel like I feel my real, real power again.
04:22 So I'm focusing on that, and then I'm
04:25 going to get back close to August, July, August.
04:29 And then, yeah.
04:32 Hey, Jorginho.
04:32 I just want your thoughts on the heavyweight division right now.
04:35 Obviously, it's in a weird position,
04:36 because Jon's waiting to fight Stipe.
04:39 Jon's hurt.
04:40 So he's not going to be until later.
04:42 Tom's the interim champion, but we
04:45 don't know if he's going to defend yet.
04:47 If you were the matchmaker right now,
04:50 who should Tom Aspinall fight?
04:53 Right now, who Tom should fight?
04:55 I don't know.
05:02 I think a fight with Cyril Galle makes sense.
05:05 A fight with Cyril Galle makes sense.
05:07 Yeah.
05:08 Cool.
05:08 Thank you.
05:09 [INAUDIBLE]
05:13 Awesome.
05:13 Thank you, sir.
05:14 All right.
05:15 Wow.
