00:00 I'm in Frankston South in the outer Melbourne electorate of Dunkley where voters have been
00:06 coming in to cast their votes today in the federal by-election.
00:10 And as we've been talking to voters there have been quite a few issues that they've
00:13 raised - health, education, crime - but the number one issue is cost of living.
00:19 Earlier Prime Minister Anthony Albanese joined the Labor candidate Jodie Bellier as she cast
00:24 her vote here in Frankston South this morning.
00:27 He was talking up the impact of the Stage 3 tax cuts that passed Parliament this week
00:32 and the impact that will have on voters here in Dunkley.
00:34 The Liberal candidate is a former Frankston Mayor, three-time Mayor Nathan Conroy.
00:39 He's expected to cast his vote later this morning and he's been talking about development
00:44 in Frankston and how important that is for generating jobs and housing here in the area.
00:49 Now this is notionally a safe Labor seat.
00:52 It's held on a margin of 6.3 per cent but everyone we've spoken to says it's expected
00:57 to be a tight race.
