00:00 The education sector is now debating the hearing of the Senate and the House of Representatives on the changes to the economic provisions of the Constitutional Law.
00:08 One senator thinks that they will vote "no" to the "cha-cha".
00:12 Ma'am Gonzalez is the one who got the vote.
00:15 The hearing of the House of Representatives will continue tomorrow on the proposed amendment of the economic provisions of the Constitution that has to do with education.
00:25 Unlike the Senate, which only allows tertiary education to be opened to foreign ownership,
00:31 the House of Representatives is studying to open the basic education, such as elementary and high school.
00:37 According to House Deputy Majority Leader Representative Janet Garin, many will be attending the hearing from the education sector.
00:45 It's investing here but the curriculum is still handled by the Department of Education.
00:50 So the curriculum cannot be changed.
00:53 So those are the things that we should listen to.
00:56 Garin thinks that the deliberation of the House of Representatives on the charter change will be completed before the Holy Week break of the Congress.
01:02 On Tuesday, the Senate will continue the hearing on the proposed charter change.
01:06 As much as possible, the Senate's target is for the House of Representatives to agree on their version of the House of Representatives, just like the issue of education.
01:13 We have to coordinate also with the other House.
01:16 Hopefully, when we talk about it, we will bring it to the floor before this weekend.
01:22 The Senate Committee on Rules was also able to assist this week to make guidelines on the hearings they are doing.
01:28 Senator Chis Escudero pointed out that for now, the Senate has no clear rules that are in line with the rules of the House of Representatives.
01:35 That is the reason, Mr. President, why I urge caution and prudence over a hasty action on this matter.
01:42 We are not different from the rules that we are following.
01:44 When it comes to the end, that's when we will lose, we will debate and we will fight.
01:49 Senate Minority Leader Coco Pimentel said in an interview on the radio that for now, four senators he thinks will vote against the charter change.
01:57 He and Sen. Riza Monteveros, Sen. Cynthia Villar and Sen. Mark Villar.
02:01 Senator Monteveros and Sen. Villar confirmed this and the GMA Integrated News is trying to get the statement of Senator Mark.
02:09 The Congress needs seven no votes to not pass the charter change.
02:13 For GMA Integrated News, Mav Gonzales, for Tutok, 24 hours.
