Hopkins on His Inconsistent Team
UW coach Mike Hopkins discussed the Huskies' season-long inconsistent play.

00:05 wins, but you just haven't had any kind of consistency at all.

00:11 We were in a staff meeting after the game and
00:13 it's just the consistency of what you're gonna get.
00:18 You're gonna miss shots, you can't count on that.
00:21 But your attention to detail,
00:26 I felt like we were shooting ourselves in our foot.
00:30 We were supposed to switch up, we switched low with Boogie Ellis, he makes the three.
00:35 We were just for some reason, that inconsistency,
00:40 lack of focus in the middle of the game against certain players.
00:44 You can't explain it, we might have to, I felt like we prepared them well.
00:51 But that inconsistency I think has been, especially on the defensive end.
00:55 >> I hate to call you on it, but you warned us about this Thursday,
00:58 you said you've seen senior day teams come out.
01:01 >> Yeah, yeah.
01:02 I've been a part of them.
01:06 I felt like, again, just in the state of college basketball, you don't,
01:10 you know, because you have a lot of players that have already graduated in one year
01:13 and they've been here.
01:14 But a lot of these guys, you have family,
01:16 you just never know how you're gonna respond.
01:18 I felt really good going into the game, especially yesterday,
01:22 I felt good, there are two really good practices before UCLA.
01:27 I felt like we fought at the end to kind of pull, give ourselves a chance.
01:32 But at the end of the day, some of the plays that we were making today just
01:37 weren't us, but the consistency, I think more so on the defensive end,
01:43 is what really hurt us.
01:45 And I think what Kim said about not having that big presence in there,
01:48 it felt like we played a game without a seven foot center who,
01:53 in the last game, played lights out.
